We are now looking for someone who wants to teach wood and metal crafts in an adapted primary school – a role where relationships, structure, and creativity are at the center.

Your role

As a teacher in wood and metal crafts, you will plan, implement, and evaluate teaching based on the school's governing documents and the individual needs of the students. The teaching is practical, structured, and clear, focusing on strengthening students' independence, motor skills, and confidence in their own abilities.

You will teach students in grades 3–9. The assignment includes both subject teaching and teaching within subject areas, where crafts are part of aesthetic activities.

You will work closely with other teachers, child and youth assistants, student health, and guardians to create a safe and predictable learning environment. An important part of the assignment is also to ensure a safe craft environment through continuous supervision, risk assessment, and adaptation of materials and methods.

You will actively participate in the school's development work and contribute your ideas and experiences to develop teaching and operations together.

Your competencies and experience

We are looking for someone who has a teaching certificate with authorization to teach wood and metal crafts and who has a good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You also have digital competence and experience using digital tools in your work. It is an advantage if you have experience working with the adapted primary school's curriculum. Knowledge of neuropsychiatric variations, intellectual disabilities, or other disabilities may also be advantageous. Holding a B driver's license can also be seen as an advantage.

To thrive in the role, you need to be confident and structured in your work and able to create predictability for the students. You do not need to have all the answers from the beginning, but you are creative, flexible, and willing to find solutions together with others when teaching needs to be adapted. You value good relationships and meet students, colleagues, and guardians in a responsive and respectful manner, which is an important part of creating a safe and functioning school day.

To work in primary school, you are required to provide an extract from the criminal record. You order the extract for school and childcare from the Police (https://polisen.se/ (https://polisen.se/)). It is valid for one year and must be renewed thereafter.
