Your Role
The section you will belong to contributes with electronic designs to all projects with electronic content. Here, in addition to taking on electronic design for our weapon systems, you will work with civilian applications in areas such as surveillance and security. Your work will focus on electronic design, both digital design for signal and image processing as well as analog design.
Your tasks will encompass everything from requirements management to development up to finished product. You will also have good opportunities to choose a direction based on your area of interest, with a clear focus on ensuring that our products have high reliability and, above all, function in challenging environments with significant mechanical stress and varying temperatures.
With us, you will work in project form and have extensive contacts with other technical areas such as systems, mechanics, and software.
Since we work at the absolute forefront of technology, we expect you to have genuine knowledge in the field of electronics. Of course, we must continuously train our staff; having your skills at their peak is key to our success. Therefore, we offer our employees a variety of courses to create future specialists and leaders.
Your work includes, among other things:
- Electronic design - analog and digital
- FPGA design
- Analysis and problem-solving
- Interpretation and breakdown of requirements
- Support during testing and verification
- Specifications, design descriptions, and reports
Your Profile
We are looking for a structured and quality-conscious person who enjoys driving work forward and is communicative in their way of collaborating. You are positive and see varied tasks as an opportunity to develop, while also being used to taking your own initiatives and having an open attitude towards new challenges.
You have:
- A university degree in engineering with a focus on electronics or equivalent
- Several years of experience in hardware design - analog and digital
- Practical engineering experience in systems technology, electronics, and measurement technology
Meritorious:
- Experience with Mentor Graphics tools for electronic design and simulation
- Experience with languages for designing programmable circuits (VHDL)
- Experience with hardware-near programming (C/C++)
Your workplace and office are located in Karlskoga at the Dammbrokontoret. The position may involve travel both nationally and internationally.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations at any given time. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in certain cases, involve requirements for specific citizenship.
