Care Assistant for Home Care

About the Position

As a care assistant with us at Marka Home Care, you have a coordinated responsibility for support, service, and care interventions for our clients. In your daily work, you plan, implement, and follow up on these interventions. You work in a team with colleagues with different competencies, where we always have the individual needs and interests of the client at the center. We work with a rehabilitative approach and person-centered care where the client's needs, desires, and abilities guide the goals for rehabilitation. For us, quality and good care are important; as an employee, you are expected to contribute and participate in our development work. Together, we are responsible for maintaining high-quality work and following the guidelines and decisions that accompany the assignment.

Examples of Job Responsibilities:

  • perform care tasks and, based on delegation, some medication management
  • perform service tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping
  • plan and develop work independently and together with the workgroup
  • establish and follow care plans, routine descriptions, and action plans together with the client
  • collaborate with relatives and others in the client’s network, such as nurses and occupational therapists
  • document regularly in the organization’s documentation system and access existing documentation
  • establish and follow up on implementation plans
  • have knowledge of and follow the organization’s applicable laws, policies, and routines

About the Workplace

You will be part of a workgroup of over 30 people with a rotating schedule every 6 weeks. We are based in Landbotorpsallén and primarily work in the areas of Brickebacken, Brickeberg, and the countryside around Norra bro/Gällersta. During the workday, we travel by both car and bicycle.

The area of care and support is part of the Social Administration. The operations include care and support, preventive activities, authority exercise in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Support, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As a care assistant with us, you are a reliable and stable person who creates trust in interactions with both clients and colleagues. You work independently and take responsibility for your tasks, but also see collaboration as a natural and important part of the work. Our daily work is based on teamwork, and you actively contribute to a good work environment by expressing your opinions, being attentive, respectful, and flexible in your collaboration. Furthermore, you are resilient and can maintain calm even in pressured situations. With good judgment, you make wise decisions and adapt quickly when circumstances change. In interactions with clients, you demonstrate a professional demeanor where you are calm, attentive, and accommodating. You have a positive view of people and great respect for each individual’s needs and integrity. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and can document according to the organization’s requirements. Since the work involves digital record-keeping and the use of organizational systems, good computer skills are necessary.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • proof of protected professional title, or fall under the transitional regulations (permanently employed care assistant as of July 1, 2023)
  • driver's license (B)

Meritorious:

  • experience working in care and support
  • experience working in documentation and organizational systems
  • ability to cycle

Scope and Start Date

Employment type: permanent position

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: as soon as possible or by agreement

Number of positions: 2-3

Working hours: scheduled days and every other weekend

Other Information

As of July 1, 2023, the title of care assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as a care assistant. While waiting for your certificate, it is possible to be employed as a care aide. If you had a permanent position as a care assistant on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
