Medical Secretary at the Eye Clinic
We offer you, as a medical secretary, an important role with varied administrative tasks.
Common tasks include writing medical records in Cosmic, diagnosis registration, handling referrals, booking patients, and monitoring waiting lists. The role includes some reception work. You will collaborate with other professional categories to provide the best possible overall experience for the patient.
The Eye Clinic's overarching goal is to provide updated and patient-safe care combined with good accessibility and a positive approach. Our employees are our greatest asset, and it is the team that enables us to manage the clinic's large patient flow.
About You
We are looking for someone who is a trained medical secretary, preferably with a few years of experience. You have IT skills and good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Experience with Cosmic, DRG coding, waiting lists, and statistics is considered an advantage.
As you collaborate with both colleagues and patients, you need to be service-oriented and have both the willingness and ability to help others through professional interaction. You perform your work in a structured and meticulous manner, with a holistic view where you prioritize quality and patient safety highly.
To thrive in the role, you need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances, and you should also have the ability to switch between working independently and in a group. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Your Future Workplace
The Eye Clinic provides specialized eye care for residents and visitors in the southern parts of the county, as well as highly specialized care in the form of surgery in the posterior segment of the eye for the entire county and patients from surrounding regions. In addition to an outpatient unit, the clinic has its own operating department where surgeries for cataracts, glaucoma, and eyelid changes are performed. The eye clinic has a wonderful team of about 60 employees, including 11 medical secretaries.
The Kalmar County Hospital is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an emergency hospital with specialized care, maternity care, and postnatal care. Over 2300 people work here to provide good care and high patient safety for the county's residents. Our employees' continuous development efforts lead to good results in several national measurements. The hospital is located near Kalmar city center and Kalmarsund.
