About the Job
Do you want to influence Sweden's largest municipal health promotion department for seniors? We have a job for you who wants to work strategically with significant operational elements.
At the Health Promotion department in Gothenburg City, there are great opportunities to drive the work forward. Do you want to be part of us?
The operations include the city's meeting places for seniors, handyman services, support for relatives, volunteer coordination, outreach activities, and day activities with various focuses. We work broadly to strengthen the health of the elderly and increase quality of life through both individual and general promotion and preventive measures.
The unit is now expanding with a business developer who will work with civil society and support for associations aimed at seniors. The work is carried out both independently and collaboratively, focusing on quality, clarity, and coordination. As a business developer, you contribute to developing and managing the work within the department. This may include developing processes, analyzing surveys and questionnaires, driving projects, and operationally implementing improvement work.
The work with civil society is divided into two parts. To begin with, it involves having an overall good monitoring of the civil society area to develop and strengthen the city's working methods in this. The assignment involves providing support and service to the administration and civil society organizations regarding forms of collaboration, creating forums for dialogue, and supporting the work with agreements and contracts.
In the second part of the assignment, you will handle and follow up on applications for association grants. The work involves reviewing and comparing large amounts of information against applicable regulations, as well as making structured assessments of both operations and finances.
About You
We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree, for example in social sciences, social work, political science, or public administration, or deemed equivalent by the employer. You have a good understanding of the public sector and civil society organizations, as well as how different parts of a politically governed organization interact.
You have previous experience working with civil society organizations, for example through collaboration, development work, support, grant management, project management, or similar assignments in the interface between public operations and the non-profit sector. You understand the role, conditions, and working methods of civil society.
You have experience in a coordinating role in developing working methods, initiating contact with internal and external actors, all to create new forms of exchange and collaboration. You have experience using dialogue and meeting formats that support joint development. For example, by creating participation and influence for those we serve, working with health promotion and preventive measures, developing common goals and structures for collaboration, and following up on results and adjusting working methods based on lessons learned.
You express yourself very well in speech and writing and can adapt your communication to different target groups and contexts. You can explain complex issues in a clear and accessible way.
You work in a structured manner, plan and prioritize your work, and follow up on results.
You have a good overall perspective and can see how the perspective of civil society and the city's mission are interconnected. You take into account multiple perspectives and contribute to solutions that create added value for both operations and partners.
You are development-oriented, keep yourself updated in the field of civil society and collaboration, and translate new knowledge into improved working methods.
You have a service-oriented approach, are accessible in your interactions, and work to provide professional and qualitative support to both internal and external actors.
It is advantageous if you have worked in the city's operational system for association support (BoB).
