Are you an engaged person with a heart for making a difference? Do you want to work to support and protect women, girls, and children living in our sheltered accommodation and/or coming to our counseling service? One of our colleagues is going on parental leave, and we are now looking for a temporary colleague for our operations.

About the workplace

The Women’s and Girls’ Shelter Ada is a non-profit organization that has provided support and protection to women, girls, and children affected by violence for over 45 years. We are a non-profit, non-religious, and non-political organization that operates from a feminist perspective. We run a sheltered accommodation for women and children, a counseling service, and also work with advocacy. The Women’s and Girls’ Shelter Ada is a women-separatist organization.

Responsibilities as a coordinator

In the role of coordinator, you will primarily work to support women, girls, and children in the sheltered accommodation. The responsibilities include:

  • Being the contact person for women and children in Ada's sheltered accommodation, which involves planning, implementing, and following up on interventions
  • Documentation, conducting risk assessments, and having regular support conversations
  • Collaborating with the placing social services and other actors
  • Providing support and practical assistance for women, girls, and children in the sheltered accommodation
  • Providing collegial support and collaboration with the child coordinator when the woman has children at Ada

The role also includes:

  • Receiving incoming calls on our helpline
  • Having support conversations with women in Ada's counseling service
  • Participating in information campaigns and advocacy within the organization's area when needed

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree comprising 180 higher education credits in social work or similar.
  • Several years of experience in social work, preferably experience working with sheltered accommodation for women and/or crisis and support services.

  • Training and/or work experience in using documentation programs
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and basic knowledge of English.

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is a secure, structured, and responsible person. You can remain calm in various situations that may arise and have an empathetic and professional approach. We are a small workgroup, so it is important that you can both collaborate in a group and work and make decisions independently. Since we operate from a feminist perspective, we want you to support our values and have a strong commitment to the target group. You will have access to regular group supervision.
