Academy of Learning, Humanities and Society

The University consists of four interdisciplinary academies, and the current position is located at the Academy of Learning, Humanities and Society (LHS). The Academy has about 90 employees distributed across two departments: the Department of Learning and the Department of Humanities and Society. The Academy offers undergraduate education and also supplementary pedagogical education, as well as professional development for practitioners. Additionally, the Department of Learning has recently launched an international master's program in Digital Learning. Through various doctoral schools and doctoral education at other academies, several doctoral students are also affiliated with the Academy. The Academy is currently in the process of formulating a doctoral education application in the area of "Learning in School and Society." The research at the Academy is focused on learning and social change. Since 2022, the University’s research has been organized into various multidisciplinary research programs that offer excellent opportunities for collaboration both within the Academy and with researchers from other academies. Many of the Academy's researchers are affiliated with the University’s research programs TRAINS – Transformation, Innovation and Norm Sciences and LeaDS – Learning in a Digital Society. The Academy also includes the Digital Laboratory Center (DLC), which is a creative digital environment for education, research, and collaboration. In addition, we have established a collaboration network called SamLär with municipalities and school authorities in the region. Furthermore, the Academy conducts practice-oriented research in collaboration with local school authorities and higher education institutions in southern Sweden.

We are now looking for a researcher who wants to help develop research related to the LeaDS research program.

Job Responsibilities

The researcher will contribute to data collection, implementation, and publication of research projects together with Professor Pernilla Nilsson. The work also includes applying for external funding to develop the LeaDS research program.

Qualifications for Researchers

To be eligible for employment as a researcher, one must have a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence and documented research work after the doctoral degree.

Specific Qualifications for This Position

Requirements

• The applicant must have a PhD and a teaching degree.
• The applicant must be qualified as an associate professor or close to achieving such qualification.
• The applicant must also have experience working with practice-oriented research regarding the digitalization of schools, both concerning teachers and school leaders.
• The applicant must have experience with collaborative activities at local, regional, national, and international levels.

Meritorious

• Competence in teaching supported by Generative AI and other forms of digital technology for educational purposes is meritorious.
• Experience in research and doctoral education in interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary environments and experience working with doctoral schools is particularly valued.
• Experience in obtaining external funding competitively is meritorious.
• Experience in national and international collaboration related to the digitalization of schools is meritorious.
