Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a particularly skilled teacher for Solbackeskolan who has advanced in their profession and is interested in continuing to develop their role, which should directly benefit the students.

In order to develop teaching and with the goal of increasing goal fulfillment, you as a lead teacher will work with teaching and tasks related to teaching. In addition to teaching, you are expected in your role as a lead teacher to:

• support other teachers in the development and improvement of teaching by leading professional learning at the school together with the principal, linked to the school's systematic quality work. This involves developing teaching methods that will yield better student results. One task for a lead teacher will be to mentor and coach other teachers to maximize the output of each educator and student.
• stay informed about current research and actively work to connect it to the school's activities and work in the classrooms.
• contribute to school development and take a leading role in driving school development forward, as well as contribute to the development of teaching at the school level.

Examples of tasks that may be included in the lead teacher's role are classroom observations, reflections, feedback, group discussions, discussions with individual colleagues, arranging meeting places, identifying various learning needs, developing and testing new methods/approaches to meet students' different needs, etc. The important and central aspect of the lead teacher's role will thus be one that supports/coaches other teachers in order to develop teaching and improve student results.

Regarding local needs, the school's principal will formulate this part of the lead teacher's role according to the needs present at the unit. The work may involve teaching and learning that the school management prioritizes based on the school's systematic quality work, e.g., subject didactics or interdisciplinary work such as value-based work.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher in English combined with another subject aimed at grades 7-9 according to Chapter 2, Section 16 of the Education Act (2010:800).

You should document at least four years of well-regarded work in teaching within one or more positions in the education sector. The documentation should show that you in your teaching role have demonstrated a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and shown a strong interest in developing teaching.

Furthermore, you as a teacher are particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching by having solid knowledge in the subject/subject area you teach. You have strong didactic skills and can adapt teaching to the students by being able to see and meet each individual student, identify various learning needs, and be innovative in trying a variety of methods and approaches to meet students' different needs. You can evaluate your own teaching and the effects of teaching on learning and can communicate and collaborate with both students, parents, and colleagues. You have an active interest in following and absorbing current research and have a strong interest in participating in and taking responsibility for various forms of school development work that lead to improved learning and development for students. You have the ability to take on a leading role in driving school development forward by supporting colleagues in their teaching, spreading good examples, and contributing to the professional development of the school's teachers.
