Social Services

The Social Services are responsible for interventions, support, and services to individuals and families in the municipality. Our operations are primarily governed by the Social Services Act, the LSS Act, and the Health and Medical Care Act and shall implement interventions regulated by these laws. All operations are characterized by the individual at the center to meet the individual's needs. The mission involves a strong customer focus and service spirit.

The Municipal Health and Medical Care

The municipal health and medical care in Motala Municipality consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, nursing assistants, and rehabilitation assistants. We work in teams together with elderly care, LSS operations, and daily activities for the best of our citizens. Organizationally, there is also a medical equipment consultant placed here.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of Medical Equipment Consultant, you will work together with two colleagues for an equitable provision of medical equipment in the 13 municipalities of the county and Region Östergötland, based on the county-wide regulations for medical equipment supply. You are employed by Motala municipality and have primary responsibility for the western part of the county.

Your work includes being an expert in the field and providing support to the county's medical equipment prescribers in interpreting the regulations for medical equipment prescription. You are responsible for the prescriber training for the county's medical equipment prescribers and ensure that there are grounds for internal control and follow-up of medical equipment prescriptions.

Your main task is to be an expert in the field and ensure equitable care in Östergötland regarding personal medical equipment prescriptions. Your tasks also include establishing the county's medical equipment assortment, in consultation with the assortment groups based on the county-wide regulations, and preparing documentation for the revision of the county-wide regulations. Preparing decision-making documentation for special assessments and for personal prescribing rights to medical equipment prescribers is also an important part of the work.

You have a versatile and outgoing role where you interpret regulatory issues, act as a sounding board in individual patient cases, and engage in dialogue about the requirements we should place on our medical equipment supplier.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed occupational therapist or licensed physiotherapist with extensive experience in the field of medical equipment prescription. You are well acquainted with the county's regulations for medical equipment prescription. You are also well-versed in applicable laws and regulations based on the role. We consider it important that you have the ability, interest, and willingness to understand and develop the various tasks included in the assignment.

As a person, you are structured and work independently in an efficient and careful manner. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability where initiative, commitment, and the ability to overview are significant for the assignment. We would like you to have a pedagogical approach and enjoy varied and changing workdays with many contact points and a wide range of tasks.

You should be independent and driven. A good ability to convey information/knowledge, to express yourself well in Swedish, both written and spoken, as well as having good knowledge of Excel and general computer skills are qualities you possess.

You have a B driver's license and access to your own car.
