Your tasks

Are you a person with experience in elderly care and driven to provide care, support, and assistance based on individual needs? Then the position as a nursing assistant at Ekbacken's nursing home might be for you!

We are now looking for a colleague at Ekbacken's nursing home who enjoys and is comfortable working night shifts! The position is approximately 85% and the working hours are scheduled from 21:00 to 07:00 on both weekdays and weekends.

As a night nursing assistant with us at Ekbacken, you are responsible for meeting the residents' needs during the night, and the tasks are varied. You are responsible for following the routines that exist at night, as well as responding to alarms and reporting to colleagues and nurses if something unexpected occurs. In this role, you work independently and are responsible for your own house, but you can seek help from colleagues during double staffing or heavier care situations. The position also includes administering medication and providing good palliative care at the end of life.

Your workplace

Ekbacken's nursing home is located close to nature in the southern districts with good connections to central Linköping. Nearby, there is Ekholmen's center and beautiful walking paths for recreation. The residence has three houses with a total of 56 places. Three of the apartments are so-called doubles and are meant for couples who want to live together. Adjacent to the apartments, there are common areas such as a kitchen and living room with a large balcony. This position entails independent work but also requires you to support and assist your colleagues in other houses.

We put extra effort into activities for our residents. We organize various offerings every week, and the residents participate based on their needs and interests. We are fortunate to have a leisure center that is open every weekday and offers a varied program ranging from walks, reading aloud, chair gymnastics, baking, film screenings to pub and sing-along evenings once per term.

Who you are

We are looking for someone who has a recognized qualification as a nursing assistant and experience in the field. To have good conditions with us, it is desirable to have experience and knowledge of working with individuals in somatic care, dementia, and palliative care. It is an advantage if you have experience with the IBIC method, a salutogenic approach, and knowledge of low-arousal responses. We consider it essential that you can take delegations such as medication, insulin, and feeding tubes.

Work in elderly care involves a lot of customer contact and documentation, which means we require you to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish. You should also be able to use digital tools in your work and have experience documenting in journal systems.

We see that you, as a person, work well with others and can relate to them in a sensitive and smooth manner. You listen and communicate and are flexible. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks, are self-driven, and move your work forward. You are clear in your communication and ensure that the message gets through. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability that allows you to understand others' perspectives and situations.

This recruitment includes a language test. Upon employment, you will need to present a criminal record from the Police.
