Job Description

You will be responsible for 1-2 intensive care patients and will work closely with other professionals; doctors, nursing assistants, social workers, and physiotherapists.

We work with areas of responsibility and there are great opportunities to develop the areas you are particularly passionate about.

Medical technology equipment that is often found here includes ventricular drains, parenchyma meters, EEG, Doppler, PICCO, ventilators, microdialysis, infusion pumps, and more. A significant amount of research is conducted at the clinic, and certain new devices may visit temporarily.

We offer you an individually tailored introductory program of about 6 weeks, all to help you settle into your duties and get the best possible start with us at NIVA.

Work Group

At NIVA, approximately 70 nurses and nursing assistants work. Our neurosurgeons also round NIVA in collaboration with anesthesiologists, and we have our own physiotherapists and social workers.

You will join a stable and competent workgroup where many have been at the clinic for a long time. We have two educationally responsible ICU nurses who conduct the introduction and annual study days for all employees.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse with further education in intensive care. Other qualifications in relevant or related fields are advantageous. Previous experience in the specialty is a plus but not a requirement.

As you will be in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is essential that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You also need to be able to handle various IT systems to perform daily care tasks; here at NIVA, we use the journal systems ICCA and Cosmic.

We work closely together and need good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in our daily work. Therefore, this position suits you if you enjoy collaboration and are attentive and communicative with both colleagues, patients, and relatives.

As a person, you have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. The ability to adapt to the current situation and change focus quickly is crucial when unforeseen events arise.

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may start with a 6-month probationary period. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and nights.
