Preschool Area 2 in Solna municipality currently consists of seven preschools: Kullen, Juvelen, Udden, Lyckoklövern, Fjorden, Thor, and Rudviken, as well as three open preschools Månen, Solen, and Mittpunkten.

Collaboration occurs both within each preschool as well as between the preschools, and the driving force is always to do the best for our shared children. We meet in various forums to drive pedagogical development forward.

We are now looking for preschool assistants with experience working with children with NPF (neuropsychiatric disabilities) or Down syndrome.

What does the job entail?

You will be part of a work team where you together plan, implement, and follow up on the preschool's education and teaching. You will have an extended assignment and responsibility for children in need of special support. This also includes documenting relevant events and communicating with guardians as needed.

As a preschool assistant with special competence in extra adaptations and support, you are responsible for:

• creating a safe, clear, and predictable everyday life for children in need of special support
• working with clarifying pedagogy, visual support, and adapted routines
• using low-arousal responses and preventive strategies to reduce stress and conflicts
• adapting activities, environment, and responses based on the children's individual needs
• supporting children's communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
• documenting and communicating deviations according to the preschool's routines.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with the preschool's work team, special educator, principal, and other staff, guardians, and external professionals such as speech therapists, psychologists, and habilitation as needed.

Even though your primary task is to support an individual child, you are also expected to be a present and active adult in the entire child group. In this role, you work closely with other staff and contribute observations and reflections in the joint work around the child's and group's needs.

In this position, you will have significant responsibility and are encouraged to take personal responsibility for your work and come up with your own ideas within the framework of your assignment. We believe that you, as an applicant, see this as both meaningful and exciting!

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• has a preschool assistant education
• has documented experience and/or in-depth knowledge of NPF or Down syndrome
• has good knowledge of AAC and sign language support (TAKK)
• has experience collaborating with external actors such as habilitation and healthcare
• is accustomed to collaborating with guardians
• has very good Swedish both in speech and writing.

It is important that you, as an educator, are present and active. You show joy, curiosity, and engagement in the children's exploration. We will help the children succeed throughout the day, and we adults always take responsibility for situations that arise. In meetings with guardians, you have good communication and act professionally and service-oriented. As a preschool assistant with us, you act in accordance with the curriculum, set goals, policies, and guidelines.

As a person, you are calm, secure, and responsive to the needs of others. Since you will be in contact with many, we see that you enjoy collaborating with other people, both children and guardians and colleagues. As a preschool assistant for children with special needs, you have a crucial responsibility for the child's health and well-being. The role requires high accuracy, great responsibility, and a strong commitment to the child's well-being. You have the ability to create and maintain good and trusting relationships with guardians.

Furthermore, we also see that you, as an applicant, have a good ability to take responsibility and initiative, both for your own tasks and for the group's common goals, and can see what needs to be done - even if it is outside your own area of responsibility. The greatest emphasis will be placed on your personal suitability for the position.

For permanent positions, we are looking for 2-3 people. The positions are 100% with immediate start or by agreement.
