Group Leader for Aspudden Emergency Housing

The Social Administration of the City of Stockholm has an overarching and coordinating role for social services' individual and family care and the area of disabilities. Here, we create good conditions to meet residents in need of social services support. In close cooperation with the district administrations, we contribute to a modern, digital, legally secure, equal, and knowledge-based social service, and we have a strong focus on development. Within the administration, a wide range of support measures are offered to the city's residents, and the offerings change according to the needs of Stockholmers and the wishes of the district administrations. The work often occurs in close collaboration with other authorities, civil society, and the business sector. The Social Administration is also responsible for the city's serving and tobacco permits and conducts supervision.

Aspudden Emergency Housing is aimed at men in acute homelessness who also need support due to harmful use and dependence, mental health issues, comorbidity, or other difficulties.

The operation is part of the Adult Housing Area within the Social Administration and has the main task of participating in the process out of homelessness. The work is carried out on behalf of the districts of Stockholm and the Homelessness Area.

The housing is located in Aspudden. The staff consists of a unit manager, a group leader, an administrator, and 12 treatment assistants. The housing is closely linked to the City of Stockholm's other emergency housing for men called Grimmans Emergency Housing, and they complement each other.

An emergency housing is a collection point that offers an acute solution in a critical stage of life. This means that the housing will host people with various problems, often when they are at their lowest in life. The duration of stay is often very short.

It is a drug-tolerant accommodation, which means that individuals are welcome even if they are under the influence, but they are not allowed to drink or use drugs inside the accommodation.

We are now looking for a group leader as the current one has chosen to move on to another position.

Your role

As a group leader, you are the unit manager's closest collaborator, and you work together to develop and evaluate the operations.

• The group leader will assist the unit manager in the operation of the business by providing materials for employee conversations, quality, and result follow-up.
• Regular planning and review meetings with the unit manager.
• Is the closest supervisor for the treatment assistants. The group leader is responsible for the daily operations.
• Responsible for staffing and scheduling.
• Actively create a safe and professional work group/environment and actively participate in the development of methods/interventions/documentation and interactions during planning days and workplace meetings.
• Continuous updating of the operations' routines.
• Practical work in the operations may also occur.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone who has both experience in leadership and practical experience with our target group. We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent. Training in motivational interviewing and low-affect responses is meritorious.

You work both independently and in a structured manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well. You are relationship-building and have a good ability to establish contact with people. At the same time, you are calm, stable, and have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective in situations that arise in daily work. Your collaboration skills are very good, and you enjoy collaborating with other professionals while keeping the individual in focus. You are used to working in a leadership role with the ability to support and guide the treatment assistants. We are looking for someone who is mature, stress-resistant, empathetic, and can remain calm in more challenging situations. Training in motivational interviewing (MI) and low-affect (LAB) responses is meritorious.
