Örebro Airport is now looking for someone with a strong sustainability profile who wants to help develop the airport to stay at the forefront in this area. The aviation industry is in the midst of an exciting transition, with sustainable fuels and new types of aircraft high on the agenda, where the airport's sustainable systems for energy, charging, and operations are crucial to meet the future. In this role, you will work at the intersection of innovation, legislation, and transition, often together with interesting external experts and stakeholders who are far ahead in development.

About the Role

As the Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating, driving, and following up on the airport's sustainability efforts. The role is broad but has a clear focus on environment, energy, and routines in daily operations. You will work both operationally and strategically – from ensuring that control programs and regulatory requirements are met to participating in projects and implementing their results in practice. The work is done in close collaboration with internal colleagues and in research and innovation projects that contribute knowledge and solutions related to the industry's transition.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Drive and develop the airport's sustainability work.
  • Ensure that the airport complies with legislation, regulatory decisions, and applicable control programs.
  • Develop and manage a structured environmental management system with clear goals and follow-up.
  • Be responsible for environmental reporting, regulatory contacts, and consultations (noise, accessibility, energy impact, etc.).
  • Participate in projects related to energy, charging infrastructure, sustainable fuels, and technical development.
  • Collaborate in innovation work with external experts, research actors, and technology developers.
  • Contribute to energy issues and the development of solutions for increased self-sufficiency.
  • Ensure that staff have the right training and qualifications in the sustainability area.
  • Develop routines and agreements that ensure that operations at the airport meet our environmental requirements.
  • Follow up on the conditions related to the airport's environmental permit.

Qualifications

  • University degree in sustainability, environmental science, energy, natural sciences, or equivalent.
  • The airport is classified as an environmentally hazardous A-operation according to Chapter 9 of the Environmental Code, you need to have solid experience in environmental work and be able to handle the requirements that come with such operations.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in environmental or sustainability work, preferably in technology-related or regulated operations.
  • Good understanding of legislation and regulatory processes.
  • Meritorious: experience in energy issues, environmental management, noise issues, or innovation projects.
