Committed Teacher for After-School Program Wanted
At Fridtunaskolan, communication and interaction are the cornerstones of our operations. We build our work on ongoing quality efforts where we collectively strive for high goals for our students. We are now looking for a committed teacher for the after-school program who wants to develop and grow with us!
Your Responsibilities
Do you want a key role where you can help shape something entirely new? At Fridtunaskolan, we are now starting our after-school program for grades 4–6, and we are looking for someone to lead this work. As the department head, you will have overall pedagogical responsibility, driving development and leading your colleagues in daily work. You will be part of a group of other department heads led by our lead teacher, where you will collectively develop the program through weekly meetings.
The starting point for you as a teacher in the after-school program is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work according to the curriculum. The work is done both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.
As a teacher in the after-school program, you view the entire school day of the student as important, and therefore collaborate with guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this, the after-school program and school collaborate to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You will work with the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.
Since this is a full-time position, you will be connected to a grade during the school day. It has not yet been fully established which grade it will be. In the mornings, you will work as support in the classroom, and there is also time allocated for your planning as well as for meetings and collaboration.
You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit student learning, as well as your own and the program's development, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of various professionals.
Your Workplace
Fridtunaskolan is located by Ebbepark in central Linköping, close to a fantastic outdoor environment in Vallaskogen. Our school consists of a new building, and the rest has been newly renovated. The school is within walking distance to libraries, theaters, swimming pools, and concert halls. Approximately 580 students attend from preschool class to grade 6. As a large school with many students, we have the privilege of working in a dynamic environment. The large student groups demand good organization, where close collaboration among colleagues is a prerequisite for us to succeed and thrive together.
Fridtunaskolan is characterized by safety, respect, and mutual trust. We strive for a good study environment with engaged and motivated staff. This also applies to parents who show great commitment to their children's education.
At Fridtunaskolan, we prepare our students for the future by creating the best conditions for active learning. Quality is created in the meeting between teacher and student. Our staff is well-educated and has broad subject competence, and we continuously work on professional development to ensure that teaching always maintains the highest quality. Our teaching has a clear structure but also a flexibility that challenges students at the right level. Our goal is always for learning to feel meaningful and developmental. Our teaching is varied, and we focus on the most successful teaching strategies. We have clear teacher leadership in the classroom and in the after-school program. Our school is a learning environment where high and clear expectations go hand in hand with personal development and responsibility.
Who We Are Looking For
We are primarily looking for someone with a teaching license with qualifications for the after-school program. Alternatively, we are looking for someone with a degree or completed education as a teacher in the after-school program. You may also be nearing the end of your education as a teacher in the after-school program. It is an advantage if you have qualifications to teach music.
It is a requirement that you have experience as a teacher in a curriculum-based after-school program, through practice or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have worked as a teacher in an after-school program for at least one school year.

This is necessary for you to organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development according to the curriculum (Lgr22). You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
As a teacher in the after-school program, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching.
