Your Responsibilities

Your starting point as a preschool teacher is to have overall pedagogical responsibility in the preschool. You are expected to lead and distribute the pedagogical work within the team while contributing to creating collegial learning. The team will work together to plan, teach, document, and evaluate the content of the activities based on the preschool's curriculum and other governing documents.

As a preschool teacher, you promote each child's development and learning based on their interests, experiences, and needs. You create curiosity and a desire to learn, both during planned activities and spontaneous moments. In your role, you will closely collaborate with colleagues and guardians as well as potential contacts with other actors concerning the child.

As a lead preschool teacher, you will spend most of your working time as a preschool teacher in the organization, with the remaining time dedicated to mentoring, coaching, and supporting colleagues to develop and work towards high and equitable quality in education. You will strive to develop teaching based on scientific grounds and proven experience. Your specific assignment may vary depending on the needs of the organization and will be shaped in collaboration with the management group.

The current placement of the position is at Björnbärsvägen Preschool, which consists of two floors with four base units totaling 8 departments, a kitchen operated by Linköping's Food and Restaurant with a dining room. The preschool also has access to teacher workplaces and a staff room. A shared beautiful studio is available at the preschool that inspires creativity and creative activities.

We have two separate yards – one adapted for younger children and one for older children – which provides children with opportunities for meaningful and safe outdoor play based on age and needs.

Who You Are

It is a requirement that you have a preschool teacher's license. As a lead preschool teacher, you have several years of well-recommended experience in the role of preschool teacher. It is required that you have at least four years of experience teaching in a curriculum-driven preschool.

You have a strong interest in developing teaching. It is an advantage if you have experience as a team leader, lead preschool teacher, or other leadership experience.

You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary for you to organize and carry out the work so that the child receives support in their language and communication development and to ensure that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

In your role as a preschool teacher, you are well aware of the goals and quality standards for the preschool's activities. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a responsive and flexible manner in teaching and the daily life of the preschool. You create good relationships and collaborate well with the contacts that occur in your professional role. You lead the work with both children and colleagues through motivation, engagement, and participation. As a lead preschool teacher, you are a knowledge resource for others and continuously update your knowledge.
