Your Responsibilities
As a lead teacher in Linköping municipality, you have a permanent position as a teacher for grades F-6 and a fixed-term appointment as a lead teacher. Time for your role as a lead teacher is allocated in dialogue with the responsible principal, but at least 10% of working hours.
As a lead teacher at Slestad School, you collaborate and plan in a development group together with three other lead teachers.
The role of lead teacher in the school involves working to develop the operations in one or more subjects to increase goal fulfillment and students' academic results by:
- Systematically working to develop teaching based on scientific principles and proven experience.
- Staying updated on current research and advocating for its use in teaching.
- Guiding colleagues in conducting pedagogical conversations.
- Leading processes that develop collegial learning.
Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.
As a teacher, you see the student's entire school day as important, and you therefore collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this, the school's and after-school care's operations also collaborate to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. To benefit the students' learning, your own, and the organization's learning, you draw on the experiences and knowledge of various professions. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.
Your Workplace
Welcome to us at Slestad School! We are a F–6 school with about 320 students and 50 staff, beautifully located in Lambohov. Our school is housed in premises that we share with a municipal resource school, and we have access to fantastic outdoor environments with both a large schoolyard and proximity to the local playground.
Here you will encounter a workplace characterized by collaboration, clear leadership, and a positive view of students. We actively work with students' safety and well-being throughout the day, and we therefore value that you see the importance of working relationally with both students and colleagues. As a teacher with us, you will be part of subject groups based on your qualifications and grade level, where we together take responsibility for developing teaching.
For younger students, there are five after-school care departments at the school, while our open after-school program for grades 4–6 is run by Sportis in connection with Lambohov Hall.
Who You Are
It is a requirement that you have a teaching license with qualifications to teach in Science and Mathematics for grades F-6.
As a lead teacher in the school, you have several years of well-recommended previous experience as a teacher. It is required that you have at least four years of experience teaching in a curriculum-driven school. Experience from teaching in grades F-6 is an advantage. If you have previously guided other teachers in pedagogical conversations and led processes that develop collegial learning, we see that as an advantage. Furthermore, experience as a lead teacher or team leader is also advantageous.
In your role as a lead teacher in grades F-6, you need to have a particularly good ability to improve students' results. You stay updated on current research and have a strong interest in developing teaching based on scientific principles and current research. As a teacher in grades F-6, you have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. You are a good role model for the students and collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that occur in your professional role.
You have a good understanding of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is so that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
