We are looking for a Special Teacher in Swedish focusing on reading and writing development

In a beautiful environment with nature as a neighbor, you will find Brunne School. Approximately 80 students attend the school, ranging from preschool to grade 6. The school area also includes a sports hall, football and ice hockey fields, as well as a forest area with a hut and barbecue area.

About the position

We are looking for an engaged and competent special teacher in Swedish focusing on reading and writing development. The position is full-time, where you will primarily work at Brunne School and partly at Hälledal School and Älandsbro School. In this role, you will be an important part of our student health teams (EHT) and have the opportunity to make a real difference in students' learning and development.

Job responsibilities

As a special teacher, you will map and investigate students in need of special support and conduct reading and writing assessments. You will work closely with teachers to implement early interventions and be responsible for ongoing documentation in PMO. The assignment also includes leading student health meetings and following up and analyzing results from screenings in Swedish and mathematics.

An important part of the job is to support pedagogical staff in their teaching. This may involve developing study strategies, working with language development methods, using alternative and digital tools, and contributing knowledge about low-affective approaches and support for students with NPF needs. You will also plan and map needs, implement measures, and design action programs. Support measures are provided both individually, in groups, and directly in the classroom.

As part of the student health team, you will coordinate the special education work in the schools and be responsible for documenting ongoing work, both strategically and at the class or student level. The student health work also includes communicating with students, guardians, colleagues, and external actors to build trusting relationships and promote students' learning development.

We are looking for you who

We are looking for someone with a special teacher's degree for primary school with a focus on Swedish, particularly in reading and writing. You have experience working with children and adolescents with various types of support needs, including NPF and problematic school absenteeism. You are accustomed to using digital tools in teaching and possess the didactic and pedagogical ability to lead and organize work to create a good learning environment. Experience in leading workgroups is an advantage. To work with us, a valid extract from the police criminal record is required.

A driving license (B) is a requirement.

Meritorious

It is an advantage if you have previous experience in the profession, are well acquainted with the curriculum's goals and governing documents, and are updated on current research. Knowledge of extra adaptations and special support according to governing documents is also meritorious.

Scope

The position is a permanent employment, with a scope of 100%. Start date is March 30, 2026, or by agreement. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
