Specialist Nurse in Dementia

Day Activity Asken is aimed at individuals with dementia or ongoing dementia investigations and focuses on creating safe, stimulating, and meaningful days based on individual needs. We are looking for a new colleague with specialist competence in dementia who wants to be part of our core staff while also having a special role in the development of the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Our days consist of planning and creating content for upcoming days, and in this role, you have great opportunity to influence, develop, and think innovatively.

A typical day at Asken varies but always starts from the participants' needs and interests. Essentially, the work involves welcoming and engaging individuals with dementia or ongoing dementia investigations.

Examples of activities we offer: Coffee breaks and social interaction, conversation support and memory-evoking activities, group activities, singing sessions and quiz walks, daily outdoor walks when the weather permits, and shared lunch at restaurant Linnéa.

The core assignment also includes: Person-centered care, delegated health and medical tasks, planning and implementation of activities, case management, and documentation according to current guidelines.

The work is largely independent, but we work closely together in a small team where collaboration is crucial.

Special Assignment – Specialist Nurse in Dementia

As a specialist-trained nurse, you should, from a holistic perspective, be a reflective practitioner with a professional and conscious approach. You should be a role model in the work and contribute to developing and spreading a person-centered and situation-adapted working method that strengthens participants' involvement and independence.

Your special assignment includes, among other things:

• Being a link between management and staff in value-based work
• Planning and developing educational work in collaboration with the manager
• Being active in the organization's quality and improvement work
• Guiding and mentoring colleagues in everyday work
• Supporting colleagues in interactions with individuals with BPSD
• Assisting in social documentation and implementation plans
• Spreading new knowledge and monitoring developments in the dementia field
• Promoting a reflective and salutogenic approach
• Collaborating with other specialist nurses and professions

Primarily, you will work daytime on weekdays, but evenings and weekends may occur. You will also work on assignments in other operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed the Health and Care program with a professional certificate as a nurse
• Has a higher vocational education as a dementia specialist nurse or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• Has experience working in the dementia field
• Has a valid driver's license (requirement)
