About the Job

As a support assistant, you will center the individual’s needs, abilities, and interests, supporting the user in their daily life and their right to self-determination. Together with the users, you will work to provide the best possible conditions for an independent life with high quality of life. You will work based on individually established implementation plans.

We will use methods such as Independent Life (ESL), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Low-Arousal Approach (LAB). The work includes social documentation and collaboration with both internal and external parties who are key persons in the user's life.

We want to create groups where employees' strengths are utilized correctly and contribute to a work environment with open communication and solution-focused discussions. You are interested in helping to shape our operations and can quickly adapt to new or changing circumstances in your work. You have the ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing, as documentation is part of your job.

The work will be scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. We use Multiaccess for scheduling. We also work with ARP and resource passes.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other training that the employer deems equivalent.

You need to have extensive experience working with individuals with mental and neuropsychological disabilities. Communication and social documentation are important parts of the job, so you must master the Swedish language in both speech and writing, which requires passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the testing user Educateit.

If you have experience with knowledge of ESL, MI, and Low-Arousal Approach, these are considered advantageous.
