Investigator (temporary position) at the Equality Authority

The goal of gender equality work in Sweden is for women and men to have the same power and opportunities to shape society and their own lives. The work includes issues of influence, economy, health, education, work, and bodily integrity.

The Equality Authority shall ensure that the government's gender equality policy is implemented effectively by contributing to its execution. The authority's task is to coordinate, monitor, and provide support in various areas of gender equality. The Equality Authority is an LGBTQI strategic authority, which means that the authority shall promote the equal rights and opportunities of LGBTQI individuals in its operations.

The Department for Analysis and Monitoring has a special responsibility for the authority's task of monitoring and analyzing gender equality policy, both nationally and internationally. This involves both ongoing and in-depth monitoring and analysis. The department is responsible for the authority's contacts with the research community, and it also houses the authority's statistical operations. The department currently consists of about 20 people with various types of expertise and backgrounds in analysis and monitoring. The department currently has two investigative units.

We are now looking for two investigators (temporary positions), one for each investigative unit.

Job Responsibilities

As an investigator in the Department for Analysis and Monitoring, you will work with our ongoing monitoring assignment:

  • To analyze and monitor gender equality policy, gender equality measures, and political governance to achieve gender equality goals.
  • To compile and analyze indicators and other relevant statistics that can contribute to increased knowledge about societal development.
  • To explain and communicate results, complex relationships, and gender equality challenges both orally and in writing.

Specifically, the work involves producing, compiling, and processing various types of materials, writing reports, and representing the authority in various contexts. The work will be carried out in collaboration with others in the authority and in cooperation with other actors in the field, primarily other government agencies.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Academic degree deemed relevant by the employer for the position
  • Documented experience in investigative and analytical work
  • Documented experience in analyzing societal areas related to one or more of the gender equality sub-goals
  • Good knowledge of social analysis
  • Good knowledge of methods related to monitoring and analysis
  • Good knowledge of processing and analyzing statistics using quantitative methods
  • Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English (plain language skills).

We are looking for someone who wants to develop in the role of investigator. Through collaboration with more experienced colleagues, you will have the opportunity to work in various areas and assignments. It is considered an advantage if you have:

  • Good knowledge of Swedish gender equality policy
  • Experience working in politically governed operations
  • Experience writing investigations or research reports
  • Knowledge of gender equality sub-goals related to power and influence, unpaid domestic and care work, and/or men's violence against women

Meritorious means that it is an advantage if you meet the following criteria, but they are not mandatory to be considered for the position.

Employment Information

The positions are temporary full-time until December 31, 2026, based at the Equality Authority's office in central Gothenburg. We apply a 6-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible/according to agreement. Travel in the job may occur.

Work samples may be required in the recruitment process.

Salary range for the position: 35,000-40,000
