With us, you will have a meaningful assignment where your language skills are a key to students' learning, security, and belief in the future.

The position is a permanent employment at 75%.

YOUR ROLE

As a mother tongue teacher and study guide, you will teach and support students in primary and secondary school, either in groups or individually. Teaching primarily takes place on-site at various schools around the municipality and is scheduled during daytime and sometimes evening hours. Remote teaching may occur in exceptional cases.

You will work within the unit for competence center, multilingualism, where mother tongue teaching and study guidance in the mother tongue are a natural part of the school's mission. In this role, you contribute to strengthening students' language development, subject knowledge, and self-esteem – while being an important part of the school's and municipality's work for equitable education.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

You have meänkieli as your mother tongue and master it fluently in both speech and writing. You also have good knowledge of the culture in the areas where the language is spoken.

You express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing and have good IT skills. Previous teaching experience is advantageous, as is a teaching license or other pedagogical education.

As a person, you are engaged, creative, and have a genuine interest in working with children and young people. You easily create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, and you plan your work in an independent and structured way. Collaboration is a natural part of your work style, and you actively contribute to the team together with other mother tongue teachers.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

In Skellefteå municipality, we work to ensure that all children and students have the opportunity to succeed in school, regardless of linguistic background. As an employee of Skellefteå municipality, you will have a secure employer with a clear focus on quality, development, and equity. The work involves traveling between different schools in the municipality, which requires you to be able to independently travel between workplaces.

GOOD TO KNOW

We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer a few selection questions and attach an updated CV. Psychological tests are used as part of the recruitment process. Selection and appointment may occur continuously – so do not wait with your application.
