Piano Teacher Wanted at Skellefteå Cultural School
Do you feel that music can enrich life – and do you want more children and young people to experience that feeling? Then this could be the job for you. Skellefteå Cultural School is now looking for an engaged teacher with piano as the main instrument – who wants to inspire, teach, and make culture an obvious part of everyday life.
YOUR ROLE
As a piano teacher at Skellefteå Cultural School, you will plan and conduct lessons with piano as the main instrument, and preferably also in secondary instruments, orchestra or ensemble activities, or other cultural subjects. The assignment includes course activities, ensemble leadership, and music teaching in schools in collaboration with classroom teachers. You will also participate in some open activities and trial sessions.
You will be part of a team within the piano subject and collaborate with colleagues working in various artistic expressions. Together, you will plan and carry out concerts, performances, and projects. The content of the teaching can be adapted to some extent based on your expertise and the needs of the organization.
The work takes place during the day and evening, as well as during certain holidays, and weekend work may occur.
YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone with a relevant university education in piano with a pedagogical focus, or equivalent deep subject knowledge combined with a pedagogical approach. Piano is your main instrument, and you have experience in teaching, ensemble and orchestra leadership, and preferably secondary instruments or other cultural subjects. You have experience and competence to teach music in grade 2.
You communicate very well in Swedish, both spoken and written. A B driver's license and access to a personal car are required for the position, as well as providing a criminal record extract for work in schools or preschools.
It is advantageous if you have experience working with groups of children, including those with disabilities.
As a person, you are structured and goal-oriented, planning and organizing your work well and following up on your efforts. You are creative, solution-oriented, and have an easy time collaborating in a humble manner with a focus on common goals. You thrive in a creative environment, take your own initiatives, and appreciate meeting children and young people where you passionately convey cultural joy.
YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
With us, you will be part of Skellefteå Cultural School – an organization with a strong community commitment and many points of contact. Here, you will work alongside engaged and knowledgeable colleagues in various artistic fields.
Together, you create an organization that gives children and young people the opportunity to develop, express themselves, and engage with culture in a safe and inspiring environment. As a piano teacher, you play an important role in contributing to both the daily teaching and the long-term development of the cultural school.
GOOD TO KNOW
We recruit based on competence and focus on experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer selection questions and attach an updated CV.
