Vocational Teacher for Hotel and Tourism Program

We are now looking for a vocational teacher who wants to help develop the hotel and tourism apprenticeship program with us. In the apprenticeship education, students combine studies at school with work experience at a workplace.

With us, you will combine your industry knowledge with pedagogy and help create an education that is relevant, practical, and future-oriented – both in the classroom and in the field.

YOUR ROLE

As a vocational teacher, you are responsible for planning, conducting, and following up on teaching within hotel and tourism, both in school and in close collaboration with the industry. The teaching includes both theoretical and practical elements and is based on the students' needs and the program's goals.

A central part of the assignment is collaboration with the workplaces where students do their APL (workplace-based learning). You will be in contact with supervisors, follow up on students' progress, and ensure that the education maintains high quality – both in the classroom and at the workplaces.

The role also includes mentorship. This means that you support a group of students in their studies and personal development through regular conversations, clear structure, and present leadership.

You will be part of an engaged team where you collaborate, share experiences, and drive development work together. There is room to influence – both your teaching and the program's continued development.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with work experience in the hotel and/or tourism industry and a good understanding of the profession's demands and opportunities. It is advantageous if you have post-secondary education in hotel, tourism, or another relevant field. A teaching certification is also a merit. If you lack certification, there is an opportunity to combine the position with studies towards teaching qualification.

You communicate clearly and adapt your way of explaining and instructing according to the situation and student group. Since the industry is international, you need to be proficient in both Swedish and English, spoken and written. A B driver's license is required.
