About the role

As a teacher in the hairdressing program at Astar, you will teach adult students both practically and theoretically in courses related to the profession and craft. You will lead the instruction based on the Astar model, where clear steps, controlled understanding, and structured guidance create the best possible conditions for students' learning, safety, and professional development.

You will plan and conduct teacher-led instruction that provides students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to work professionally as hairdressers. This means that you will alternate between practical moments and theoretical overviews to ensure high quality and clear progression in the education.

Your responsibilities also include actively sourcing, matching, and following up on APL placements for students. You will build good relationships with hairdressing businesses in the area to ensure relevant, safe, and developing practical environments. From the start of the education, you will work closely with the labor market and support students on their path to employment, further studies, and professional identity.

We are looking for someone who has

· at least 5 years of experience as a hairdresser

· a hairdresser's diploma

It is strongly meritorious if you are a trained vocational teacher in this field.
