We are all different. And that’s wonderful! We don’t hire people based on a certain mold but rather on who you are. For us, drive and personality are more important than experience and background. We are doing well and growing rapidly. Now we are looking for more cheerful employees with the right attitude and a desire to develop!
About the job
Position: Permanent full-time employment. A probationary period applies.
Start date: As agreed.
Working hours: You will vary between early morning, daytime, evenings, and weekends.
Requirements: Secondary education, good knowledge of Swedish (spoken and written). We welcome applicants of all ages, but referring to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations AFS 2023:2 chapter 8 and appendix 2, we do not hire individuals under 18 years of age due to the nature of the tasks. You need to have previous experience in leadership roles, preferably within retail and experience in grocery trade.
As a team leader at Willys, you play a very important role in the development of the store and the store team, and in the work to offer our customers good and sustainable food at really good prices!
Here’s a bit more about the position:
- You are part of the store's management team, with the store manager as your immediate supervisor, and you lead and plan the operations in the Grocery Team. Of course, you actively participate in the daily operational store work – you can expect to get many steps on your pedometer!
- You work purposefully to develop the store's sales, profitability, and other important key figures. You also participate in the work of developing and following up the store's business plan.
- As the Grocery Team Leader, you are responsible for a very important part of the store's product flow. Your team is responsible for sales planning, placing orders, and ensuring that the store is appealing and seasonally relevant.
- You have personnel responsibility for the employees in the grocery team and are therefore responsible for recruitment, scheduling, and onboarding.
- You lead, motivate, and develop your team and contribute to the employees developing and performing to their full potential.
- You are a role model in welcoming all our customers and meeting them with knowledge, sensitivity, and a big smile.
About us
Not everyone is suited to work with us. But many find it fun! For us, the right attitude and desire to develop are more important than experience and education. With us, you get to work with a whole team of great personalities with different backgrounds, skills, and perspectives.
Here’s a bit more about us:
- There are clear routines and structures in place, which frees up time for you to focus on developing your team and your department.
- You will be offered many ways to grow and develop in your leadership role. The majority of our store managers once worked as team leaders.
- Willys is one of the industry's most successful companies, and we continue to grow. And as we grow, you can too – within your own area of responsibility or others, in the store, in the warehouse, or in the office.
- Willys is also part of the Axfood family, a group with a variety of companies and operations, with many different career paths and development opportunities. Through the Axfood Academy, we can offer our employees a range of different training.

About you
You love food, people, and sales just as much as we do! For us, it doesn’t matter if you are a vegan or a meat lover, eating tacos on a Friday or a Tuesday. The great thing about you is that you are you. And that’s exactly what we are looking for.
- You are driven to inspire and engage your employees, you are good at creating a positive work environment and continuously developing your team.
- You thrive in results-oriented environments where the pace is high, you have a strong drive, good problem-solving skills, and do not shy away from making decisions when needed.
- You have good knowledge of store operations and are used to leading and working together in a team.
- You have high ambitions, are meticulous, and have a very high level of structure and planning.
- You enjoy challenges and see opportunities instead of difficulties in a day-to-day life that often presents varying conditions and unforeseen events.
- You like people, put the customer's needs first, and are good at getting people on board – both customers and employees.
- You are good at communicating and can develop your team and your store through feedback and coaching.
- You have previously worked in grocery retail, preferably with groceries.
- You need to have previous experience in leadership roles in a service profession, and it is a clear advantage if you have experience in grocery retail.
