Elderly Care in Ekerö Municipality
The municipality operates two nursing homes; Ekgården in central Ekerö, which will move to Träkvistaterrassen this spring, and Söderströmsgården in Stenhamra, as well as home care services in our own management. We are proud of our employees and the services we offer our elderly!

In all our operations, your main task is to contribute to the well-being of others. You do this through social activities, support in daily tasks, and care. You receive a lot of appreciation in return, which gives a sense of well-being! The work is carried out according to clear planning and routines together with engaging and knowledgeable colleagues. You work based on the requirements of the operation, and you have a good flexible ability as changes and reprioritizations can occur quickly. There is a great variation in the type of assistance different individuals need. We offer an introduction to the operation when you start with us!
Home Care
You perform qualified care and service work for our clients in their homes based on needs and wishes. The municipal home care service provides assistance around the clock and is responsible for all security alarms. Our catchment area covers the entire municipality. Thanks to you, our clients can continue to live at home and maintain their lifestyle and habits. If you are interested in working in home care, we would like you to have a driver's license.
Nursing Home
In nursing homes, people live who need care and support around the clock. You will be part of a team with care assistants, nursing assistants, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. There is often a wonderful community in the homes with fun activities, shared meals, and celebrations. During the summer, we prioritize outdoor activities and outings.
Day Activity
The day activity is for people with dementia living in ordinary housing. During their stay at the day activity, we have overall responsibility for care, support, and activities. Experience working with people with dementia is desirable, and a driver's license is a requirement.
Qualifications
It is great if you have experience from working in care or education in a relevant field. We are also looking for you with a strong interest in learning more.
Your personal qualities are important to us, so we are looking for someone who:
- Is creative and flexible.
- Is empathetic.
- Is good at building good relationships.
- Takes initiative and is engaged.
- Enjoys taking responsibility and working independently.
We also hope that you meet the following qualifications:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You need good knowledge of the Swedish language.
- Our operational systems require you to have Bank-ID.
- For work in home care, we prefer that you have a B driver's license.

How to get to Ekerö Municipality
To work in Ekerö Municipality within elderly care, you must present an extract (HVB) from the police's criminal record along with valid photo identification before employment. You can request the extract on the police's website. The extract should not be older than six months from the date of issue.
