We currently have over 50 employees in Clinical Chemistry, with professional categories such as biomedical analysts, hospital chemists, and doctors. The foundation of our operations is clinical routine diagnostics with over three million analyses per year. Clinical Chemistry operates around the clock every day of the week. We have implemented an automation track that creates a modern and efficient laboratory environment and provides opportunities for development. Our operations are quality assured through accreditation by SWEDAC.

The area of laboratory medicine has a collective responsibility for the laboratory medical services conducted at the laboratories within Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. We run a broad operation in the areas of clinical chemistry, bacteriology, virology, immunology, transfusion medicine including therapeutic plasma exchange treatment, pathology, cytology, and molecular genetics. The area of Sterility Technology is also included. Approximately 300 people work here with routine diagnostics, research and development, and education.

Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the county's three acute hospitals where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. In both 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from the newspaper Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category for medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, and in avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding. USÖ also tops the results in the areas of heart, kidney failure, and vascular surgery. USÖ has about 3,500 employees. Biomedical Analyst Clinical Chemistry, Örebro University HospitalJob Responsibilities

In clinical chemistry, the job responsibilities mainly consist of laboratory work such as assessment and technical approval of analyses in chemistry, immunochemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood gas, proteins, chromatography, etc. We want our employees to have a broad competence and be able to perform several different tasks to create a strong team. You will be involved in improvement work where you can influence both working methods and processes.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed biomedical analyst with a focus on laboratory medicine. You have good social skills, are flexible, and find it easy to collaborate with others. The position involves night work, either as a pure night shift or according to a schedule that includes day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.

You have a positive attitude towards our customers and can also explain and assist them with inquiries. You have good collaboration skills and can work independently. It is important that you enjoy working with varied tasks and learning new things.

You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as the tasks involve documentation and communication with patients and colleagues. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
