Chief Physician for the Administration, Health and Medical Care Administration
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Chief Physician for the Administration reports patient safety issues directly to the Director of Health and Medical Care and is part of the management team of health and medical care. The Chief Physician for the Administration is employed by one of the health and medical care's support units, operational and management support, and is subordinate to the head of the support unit. The Chief Physician for the Administration has an overarching process responsibility for coordinating patient safety issues at the administrative and area levels.
The assignment consists of various parts:
Chief Physician for the Administration means representing the principal in patient safety matters, both locally, regionally, and nationally.
Common job responsibilities:
- participate in the preparation, formulation, and follow-up of overarching goals and strategies within the patient safety area.
- serve as the administration's face in overarching medical issues concerning patient safety.
- ensure that a continuous systematic patient safety work is conducted, where the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations on management systems for systematic quality work are applied.
- be the administration's contact person towards the supervisory authority IVO.
- be the line manager for 5 patient safety strategists.
Support to health and medical care chief physicians regarding the handling of patient safety issues while observing the specific laws, regulations, and authority requirements that exist within patient safety work.
Common job responsibilities:
- convene and lead the work in the chief physician group.
- follow the knowledge development in the field and be responsible for monitoring laws, regulations, and directives concerning patient safety in health and medical care in general, as well as ensuring that knowledge of these is adequately disseminated within the organization.
Line Manager for the Patient Safety Center. Within the Patient Safety Center, there are three units: the Patient Safety Unit, Clinical Training Center, and Infection Control and Healthcare Hygiene, where Strama and the Clinical Ethics Council are also located.
Common job responsibilities:
- continuously develop the operations in line with the administration's needs, while observing the specific laws, regulations, and authority requirements that exist within patient safety work.
- be responsible for personnel, budget, and work environment issues.

QualificationsWe are looking for a licensed physician, senior specialist, or consultant with managerial experience at the operational manager level. Good knowledge of the Swedish language and the ability to express oneself well in speech and writing is a requirement. Experience in representing an organization and some media experience is also required. Furthermore, we want you to have experience in administrative work across the administration within health and medical care or consulting experience from the same.
You must be accustomed to interacting with internal and external stakeholders, and you have experience in several of the following areas: teaching, national networks, patient safety issues, medical quality, medical ethics, as well as work concerning healthcare hygiene and infection control, and clinical education.
As a person, you must have the ability to shift perspectives from individual patient or personal level to regional or principal perspective. It is obvious to us that you can collaborate well within the organization. You have good self-awareness and an understanding of how your own actions can affect and be perceived by others. Good ability to lead change and utilize the potential of employees and chief physicians in the development of the organization. We see that you have leadership experience and many years of experience in management team work, both leading a management team and being part of one.
