Do you want to help shape the supervision of healthcare professionals?
The Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is facing an exciting development and continued growth. We are now looking for more inspectors with a legal background in Örebro who want to help develop state supervision – for safer and more sustainable care and support.
About the job
As an inspector, you will investigate and assess the professional practice of licensed healthcare professionals based on current regulations.
Your main tasks as an inspector will include:
- investigating cases concerning the professional practice of licensed healthcare professionals, for example related to illness (e.g. addiction), competence, prescription of medication, care and treatment, or record-keeping
- reviewing patient records, prescriptions, and other relevant documentation
- conducting conversations and meetings with individual practitioners under IVO's supervision
- being the lead case officer in some cases and co-case officer in others, depending on the scope and nature of the cases
- working closely with colleagues nationally, including inspectors from various professions and supervisory dentists and physicians
- contributing to interdisciplinary assessments and joint positions
- making or preparing decisions in cases, and if necessary, preparing reports to the Health and Medical Care Responsibility Board (HSAN).
The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probation period, located in Örebro.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- a law degree (LL.B. or other education that IVO assesses as equivalent)
- at least two years of relevant work experience from the public sector
- good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
The role places high demands on objectivity, integrity, as well as good judgment and analytical skills to make well-founded and legally secure assessments. To succeed in the role, good collaboration skills and the ability to contribute your professional perspective in interdisciplinary contexts are required. You need to feel confident in your competence and have the ability to work independently and drive cases forward with clear structure and responsibility for progress. We continuously develop our methods and working practices, which means you need to be able to adapt to new conditions.
In the recruitment process, we will place great importance on your personal qualities.
It is considered an advantage if you also have:
- experience from the courts, such as serving as a law clerk or working as a reporting lawyer
- experience in supervisory work
- experience in decision-making or decision-preparatory roles
- experience from IVO's areas of supervision in healthcare.
This is what IVO can offer you
We offer a developing role in a dynamic knowledge organization where you contribute to developing modern and effective supervision. We constantly improve our working methods and strive for a composition of employees that reflects the diversity of society.
