About the Position

Now there is an opportunity to become one of us at the Health Protection Unit, Örebro Municipality! We have 13 fantastic employees working together. We consist of two groups – the Wastewater Group and the Health Protection Group. The Wastewater Group oversees small wastewater facilities, while the Health Protection Group supervises health protection activities such as schools and preschools, swimming pools, housing supervision, complaints about living conditions, etc. This temporary position is placed in the Health Protection Group.

Together with other employees, you will plan and develop supervision work, where a key part is collaboration with other departments and businesses. We have a well-established delegation of responsibilities and powers. With us, you will have the opportunity to work independently but in close collaboration with other colleagues who have a broad experience with different educational backgrounds. We work with flexible working hours, and you have great freedom to influence your schedule and content based on interest and competence. Additionally, there will be opportunities for deepening/specialization in a specific area.

Examples of Tasks:

  • case management in our case management systems
  • plan supervision and conduct supervision visits
  • independently handle qualified tasks such as investigations, planning, and follow-up within your area of expertise
  • write reports, produce investigation materials, and formulate decision documents

About the Workplace

At the Environmental Department in Örebro, over 60 people work to create a better environment for everyone. We work on behalf of the Building and Environmental Committee and are divided into three units with different focus areas: Health Protection, Environmental Protection, and Food. The Health Protection Unit works for the individual’s safety at home and in public places, as well as to reduce environmental impact and promote a sustainable society.

For several years now, we have been working entirely digitally in one of Örebro's most modern offices - Citypassagen. Since Citypassagen is located right by the travel center, it provides good commuting opportunities and modern digital infrastructure.

Qualifications

As a person and colleague, you are unpretentious and are happy to share your knowledge and experiences with your colleagues. To succeed in your role of being secure and stable even in pressured situations, your good communication and collaboration skills are important tools. You master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to easily communicate with colleagues and other parties, as well as document in writing what the operations require. It is important that you can take responsibility and plan and structure your workdays and weeks based on set goals and the needs of the operations. We also see that you in your role with us can easily adapt to changing conditions, handle arising problems, and thrive in a dynamic environment.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • relevant higher education degree in environmental and health protection
  • driver's license B

Meritorious:

  • experience of regulatory authority
  • documented knowledge of the Environmental Code and familiarity with reading and using legal texts
  • relevant experience working with environmentally hazardous activities from municipal, state, or private sectors

Start date: by agreement until December 31, 2026
