Temporary Occupational Therapist for the Health and Medical Care Unit

We are looking for a temporary occupational therapist for the Health and Medical Care Unit. Our target group is patients with LSS decisions. We look forward to welcoming you to our team!

About the Position

As an occupational therapist with us at the Health and Medical Care Unit (HSE), you create important conditions for our patients to live as independently, actively, and meaningfully as possible. You work with rehabilitation, activity assessments, training, and prescribing aids for individuals with decisions according to LSS (the Act on Support and Service). You will work both independently and in a team, and the assignment gives you the opportunity for varied and stimulating workdays.

We start from our location on Tegelgatan and reach our patients by bike or car, but also by walking to those who live closest. With us, you will have eight occupational therapist colleagues who together possess a lot of competence that allows you to develop in your professional role.

Here you have the opportunity to become part of an engaged workgroup where your skills and ideas as an occupational therapist are valued!

Examples of Job Responsibilities:

  • assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual rehabilitation measures and needs for adjustments in the patient's physical and social environment
  • prescribe and trial both simple and technically advanced aids, e.g., cognitive, mobility, and care aids
  • educate and supervise nursing staff and occupational therapy students
  • build trusting relationships with patients and relatives, and motivate patients to achieve their own goals
  • collaborate with other professions to create individual care plans
  • document in various quality registers and operational systems

About the Workplace

The Health and Medical Care Unit is based in central premises at Tegelgatan 1–3 in Örebro. The unit consists of nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, administrators, and unit managers. We work in teams and support each other with the patient in focus. You will be welcomed by a friendly workgroup with lots of laughter and good support from each other, who care about helping you integrate into the group.

The Health and Medical Care Unit is organized within the Social Administration's area of Care and Support. The operations encompass care and support, preventive activities, authority exercise in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Support, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance.

Qualifications

As an occupational therapist, you will have a lot of contact with patients, relatives, and staff, which requires you to be clear in your communication and easy to collaborate with others. Of course, you always provide a good reception that leads to building trusting relationships. You are secure and stable as a person and can independently plan and prioritize your work. We also believe that you can easily adapt to changing circumstances as days sometimes do not go as planned. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with patients and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires. Since the work involves digital documentation in operational systems, good computer skills are required.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • licensed occupational therapist
  • driver's license for manual transmission

Meritorious:

  • experience working as an occupational therapist
