About the Position

As a nurse/district nurse with us at the Health and Medical Care Unit (HSE), you will perform health and medical care interventions for patients with physical and mental disabilities according to LSS (The Act on Support and Service). You will carry out health and medical care assignments for individuals who have the support of special housing, daily activities, and personal assistance.

We start from a central location on Tegelgatan and travel to our patients by bike or car, but also by walking to those who live closest. Since our patients are children, young people, and adults, we want you to enjoy working with all age groups. In the evenings, the assignments are primarily aimed at special housing for children and youth.

A large part of the role as a nurse/district nurse is to independently carry out clinical assessments, perform health and medical care interventions, and guide and delegate to support staff to perform health and medical care interventions. Therefore, it is important that you feel secure in your professional role.

Examples of Tasks:

As a nurse/district nurse:

  • you work as the responsible nurse for care
  • you identify the need for health and medical care for patients based on the health and medical care process
  • you conduct risk assessments and work preventively
  • you collaborate both internally and with external actors such as health centers, specialist care, and habilitation
  • you provide support, guide, and instruct in general care, and delegate health and medical care interventions to support staff
  • you motivate patients to receive support and interventions/treatment

As a district nurse:

  • you have a responsibility to perform tasks based on your specific role as a district nurse
  • you have prescription rights and use your knowledge of drug properties, prescriptions, and their side effects
  • you make health economic choices for investigation and treatment based on in-depth knowledge
  • you guide colleagues in areas with educational needs and are a driving force towards Close Care

About the Workplace

The Health and Medical Care Unit is based in premises on Tegelgatan 1–3 in central Örebro. The unit consists of nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, administrators, and unit managers. We work in teams and support each other with the patient in focus. You will be welcomed by a friendly workgroup with lots of laughter and good support from one another who care about you integrating into the group.

The Health and Medical Care Unit is organized within the Social Administration's area of Care and Support. The operations include care and support, preventive activities, authority exercise in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Support, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance.

Qualifications

As a nurse/district nurse, you are secure in yourself and have good self-awareness. You enjoy having your own areas of responsibility and take responsibility for your tasks in an independent and structured manner. Being attentive and accommodating in your interactions, both with colleagues and patients, is a given for you. You are clear in your communication and have the ability to ensure that information is conveyed. Furthermore, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities and solutions in what you face. Additionally, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with patients and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires. Since the work involves digital documentation in operational systems, good computer skills are required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • licensed nurse
  • B driver's license for manual transmission

Meritorious:

  • experience working as a nurse
  • specialist training as a district nurse
  • specialist training in psychiatry
  • experience in health and medical care for patients within the LSS area
  • experience working in documentation and operational systems such as Lifecare HSL, Lifecare SP, NPÖ, or Pascal
  • knowledge of sign language

Working hours: day, evening, and weekend (38.25 hours/week)
