Are you interested in programming, games, and IT in general and want to work extra as a respite and companion? Do you enjoy hanging out at the computer with a creative 14-year-old? Then you might be our new respite provider.

We are looking for someone who has a few hours available now and then when the regular respite provider is sick or when our need for respite is a bit greater. Primarily weekends, but evenings may also be relevant. On weekends, we are usually at our holiday home near Flen; otherwise, we live in Årsta. During the spring, a few nights may also be relevant.

We believe you are:

• open-minded and preferably interested in LGBTQ+ issues
• secure and patient, preferably with a sense of humor.
• share an interest in programming and games and are well acquainted with computers.
• comfortable speaking English (you do not need to speak Swedish).

If you have NPF and/or identify as queer, you are especially welcome.

Your tasks
The work consists of being a secure adult friend. The goal is for you and the youth to have a fun time together while the parent engages in other activities. In the long term, there may also be escorting, so it is good if you are comfortable cycling as well as taking trains and buses. Very simple cooking may occur.

The workplace
We who need respite are a 14-year-old with NPF and their parent. In the house, there is an allergy-friendly dog and a less allergy-friendly cat. To get to us, you will likely need to take a train plus bike or have a car. You will be employed by Bambi, which is a secure employer for respite providers and companions.

As a respite provider within Bambi, you are expected to take the initiative for educational and stimulating activities. Respite services aim to relieve relatives in the care of the child with disabilities and enable recovery.

As a companion within Bambi, you support youth to participate in activities and community life. Escort services aim to prevent and break social exclusion for young people with disabilities and enable an active leisure time.

You do not need to have any previous experience in the profession, but it is a plus if you have experience with children or people with disabilities. As an employee at Bambi, you will have the opportunity for regular professional development and supervision as we want you to feel secure in your work role.

Salary:
Individual salary setting. Hourly/monthly salary. Collective agreement exists: Fremia-Kommunal. You will also be offered an introduction, wellness benefits, supervision, and continuous professional development.

Start date:
By agreement. We will continuously call for interviews, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.

To be employed as a respite provider or companion, you must have a valid extract from the criminal record.
