We are looking for an experienced and self-driven social worker focusing on the elderly to join our team!

The mobile advice and support team of Stockholm City Mission targets people living in social and/or economic exclusion. We offer support to children and adults who wish to change their life situation. Our team consists of social workers and a lawyer. Elderly individuals have long sought out Stockholm City Mission's various activities. Many live on low pensions, have limited social networks, and face complex health issues, and we see that loneliness is often exacerbated by practical obstacles, such as the inability to navigate support structures or access the right help. Many elderly individuals visiting our activities lack informal networks or support persons and risk falling through the cracks in complex systems, leading to unfulfilled rights and lack of necessary interventions.

About the role

In the role of representative, your main task is to provide individual support to ensure that the elderly have their social rights met through third parties and/or knowledge of possible courses of action in relation to applicable laws and regulations. You will work specifically with individuals aged 65 and older who are living in social and/or economic vulnerability in Stockholm County. You will support individuals in issues such as:

• Economics, such as pensions and elderly financial support
• Issues related to digital exclusion
• Access to healthcare and dental care
• Contact with social services regarding elderly care and housing adaptations
• Support in contact with various authorities

This is a new role within the unit, meaning you will be involved in developing the role and the work. The work is based in central Stockholm, but you will work mobile in various locations where the target group is present, including our own meeting places at Mariatorget, Vårberg, and Hässelby. The role includes collaborating with external actors and participating in mapping out which places have a need for our interventions. The role requires you to be flexible, take responsibility, and have an easy time creating contact with new people. You identify with the values and mission of Stockholm City Mission.

You have

• A degree in social work or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• Experience supporting individuals in contacts with authorities, healthcare, and other community actors
• Documented experience working with the elderly in, for example, care homes, home care, or day activities
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish

Meritorious

• Experience as a case officer for the elderly within social services
• Authority exercise

The position is based in the Mobile Advice and Support Unit within the Meeting Places area. Full-time position (100%). This is a fixed-term employment from 2026-04-01 to 2028-12-31.
