We are now looking for a caregiver for a summer position during the period from week 23 to week 33, summer 2026, for our forensic psychiatric examination unit in Hisings Backa, Gothenburg.
Your Assignment
The Department of Forensic Psychiatry investigates, on behalf of the court, whether a person suspected of a crime committed it under the influence of a serious mental disorder. We also conduct risk assessments when life-sentenced individuals apply for a time-limited sentence. The Department of Forensic Psychiatry consists of two forensic psychiatric examination units located in Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as a coordination unit located at the headquarters in Stockholm.

The suspects reside at the unit during the investigation period. Under the supervision of a nurse, you will ensure that those admitted for forensic psychiatric evaluation receive good care and that you, together with colleagues, ensure that safety is maintained at a high level. You will receive an introduction for this.
Qualifications
- Nursing education or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
Desirable
- Experience working in forensic psychiatric care, psychiatric care, or as a corrections officer.
Personal Characteristics/Abilities
You have the ability to collaborate with others and meet them in a responsive manner. Furthermore, you have an ethical approach, integrity, and act steadily to handle the work of the organization professionally. Internal and external contacts are an important part of the job, so it is important that you have good communication skills, which means that you express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. The job requires good physical condition.
Due to the nature of the work, great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
Employment
We are looking for a summer substitute during the period from week 23 to week 33 in the summer of 2026.
We apply irregular working hours, which means that you may work both daytime, evenings, nights, and weekends. A good schedule that also allows for continuous time off.
The place of employment is Gothenburg, Hisings Backa. The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting, with start date according to agreement. Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.

In connection with employment at the National Board of Forensic Medicine, there may be an obligation to be placed in wartime.
