Do you want a fun and developing summer job where you can make a difference? We at Besebäcken Group Home are looking for summer temps who want to work in social psychiatry.

Besebäcken is a group home with six residents and is located near Partille station with good connections to Gothenburg and Alingsås. We provide support according to LSS and SoL to individuals with mental, physical, and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities, sometimes with comorbidity.

As a summer temp and residential staff with us, you are part of a team that works in a housing support-like manner within the framework of LSS, even though we do not have pure housing support decisions. We work structured with Care and Support Coordination, where each resident is involved in formulating their own goals and development paths. In practice, this means that you offer support in both everyday tasks and in more complex life areas – always focusing on independence and recovery.

The work is very varied – the needs and conditions of the residents differ greatly. It may involve supporting a person to get started with leisure activities, finding a structure in everyday life, or accompanying them to an activity house that we collaborate with. For other residents, the most important support is more care-oriented, where you provide assistance with personal hygiene, showering, and changing incontinence pads in a dignified and professional manner.

We use the feedback tool FIT (ORS/SRS) to continuously evaluate whether our support is effective – an important tool for the individual to influence their development and our working method. You will also play an important role in supporting and coordinating contacts with healthcare and authorities, so that the resident experiences their interventions as coherent and meaningful.

The summer period extends from the week of Midsummer until mid/late August. It is advantageous if you can work most of this period. The working hours vary between approximately 80-100%. The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and in some cases, sleeping on duty.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with completed upper secondary education or completed/ongoing post-secondary education, such as: social worker, social pedagogue, psychologist, nursing assistant with a focus on psychiatry, or other education relevant to the position. We consider it an advantage if you have previous experience in healthcare and social care, as well as experience in social psychiatry or similar activities.

As you need to communicate clearly with our residents and be responsible for documentation regarding them, you need to have a good command of the Swedish language.

In the role of residential staff, a very good ability to collaborate is required to achieve results together with the resident. As a person, you enjoy working with people and are good at organizing and planning your time. You are motivated to support and lead people in change in a pedagogical way. You are patient and understand that all change work takes time. We place great importance on personal suitability, where flexibility and the ability to collaborate are particularly significant. Likewise, the ability to work independently is important.

Warm welcome with your application!

Good to know

Your new workplace

The Health and Care Administration consists of four departments: Assistance and Health, Functional Support, Elderly Care, and Support and Development. The Health and Care Committee is politically responsible for the administration's work. Our activities involve providing care, support, and services to younger and older individuals and to those in need of support. We also perform certain health and medical care. The vision is that our interventions should be carried out safely, securely, with dignity, and with influence.

Within the functional support department, we offer support and assistance in everyday life to children and adults with disabilities through interventions such as housing with special services, personal assistance, foster homes, short-term stays for children and youth, daily activities, and housing support. The foundation for the support is that the person should be able to live and participate in society like everyone else.

Regardless of the activity, you will be part of a warm, competent, and solution-focused team where we work closely with colleagues and residents. We offer a varied workday!
