Social Worker for BUP Eating Disorder Clinic in Uddevalla
NU Health Care is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 residents. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.
Description
Eating disorder care is a prioritized area in the Västra Götaland Region and is currently growing in several areas.
The BUP Eating Disorder Clinic in Uddevalla is no exception, and last year we expanded both our facilities and staff. As these changes are now starting to take shape, we see both the need and opportunity to further expand the team!
The Eating Disorder Clinic for children and adolescents is a specialist operation within child and adolescent psychiatry in NU Health Care. Our mission is primarily to treat children and teenagers with severe eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, but also Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).
We work in a team consisting of nurses, social workers, doctors, dietitians, physiotherapists, and unit managers. The workgroup is independent and proactive, with a passionate commitment to the youth and their families and great care for their colleagues. The work climate is open and communicative, with a good balance of seriousness and laughter.
Treatment at the clinic occurs individually and/or in groups, as well as through family therapy and meal support. We have also recently started a family day care program to better meet the needs of our patients and to reduce the number who need full-time care.
We are now looking for another dedicated social worker to join our team!
Responsibilities
You will work with treatment in families and with individuals, based on your competence and experience. Work in the family day care may also be relevant, where meal support is combined with environmental therapeutic elements. Regardless of the intervention, the focus is on strengthening the family's ability to manage the illness themselves while providing support when needed.
Your work will also involve collaborating with schools, social services, and other organizations regarding children with eating disorders.
Team collaboration occurs continuously in daily work and at treatment conferences once a week. There are good opportunities for further education in the field, and we systematically work with introduction, mentorship, and joint professional development. Staff receive regular external supervision. Since the clinic is in a developmental phase, you may participate in environmental monitoring, knowledge acquisition, collaboration with similar operations, and method development.
Welcome to help develop the future of eating disorder care in NU Health Care!
Qualifications
A degree in social work is required. It is advantageous if you are a licensed healthcare social worker and have basic psychotherapy training. Experience in eating disorder care or other psychiatry is also a plus.
You should be able to work both collaboratively in a team and independently with families, children, and adolescents. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, good social skills, flexibility, and the ability to work in a team.
Other
Interviews will be conducted continuously throughout the application period.
We prioritize everyone's safety and require a background check for all whom we offer employment; this request is made by the employer.
The position may be placed in a security class. This means that a security review and background check may be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act prior to employment.
Welcome with your application!
