About the Security Inspection

The Security Inspection (SÄKINSP) works directly under the agency's management and consists of the departments of land security inspection (MARKI) and maritime security inspection (SJÖI). MARKI conducts supervision and inspections and is responsible for providing material for regulations and offering internal support within the framework of the Swedish Armed Forces (FM) operational security. Our offices are located near Gärdet in Stockholm.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct and follow up SÄKINSP inspections of units
  • Conduct and follow up inspections of military control stations
  • Handle matters regarding trafficworthiness and vehicle control within the Swedish Armed Forces (FM)
  • Be responsible for contacts with authorities on trafficworthiness issues
  • Certification of military inspection technicians
  • Professional support to FM on trafficworthiness issues
  • Lead projects within the area of work
  • Exercise responsibility for the Swedish Armed Forces' regulations for basic supervision of vehicles (FAG F)
  • Participate in the development of regulations, manuals, and directives
  • Conduct training initiatives and training controls within the area of work
  • Act as an expert function in the procurement or modification of vehicles/material

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Technical education at least equivalent to a 3-year high school or equivalent knowledge assessed as comparable by the employer
  • Work experience in a leading technical position in units
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, equivalent to a 3-year high school
  • Driving license B. Manual

PREFERABLE

  • Training in auditing (ISO 9000) or other control activities
  • Experience as a technical officer, military inspection technician, inspection engineer, or inspection technician
  • Knowledge and experience of the FM organization

Other

Position: Inspector Land, Independent (military or civilian). The place of work is negotiable and placement is possible at locations where the Swedish Armed Forces have unit operations, primarily garrison locations. Recurring activities at HKV, Stockholm. The position involves extensive travel both within Sweden and abroad to operational areas and international meetings. Approximately 15 inspection trips of 2-4 days/year.

Employment type: Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period may apply. Employment rate: Full-time.

Start date upon agreement. Employment type (permanent, temporary, fixed-term). The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the agency. Information about the recruiting unit:

At the Headquarters, there is the Chief of Defense and the Director General. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defense Staff, Operations Management, Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters' Staff Department and independent supervisory units.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security clearance with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment includes an obligation to be placed in a war situation. The implications of this vary depending on the type of position.
