Do you want to enhance traffic safety within the Armed Forces?
As the Traffic Safety Manager, you will play a strategic and operational key role in leading, developing, and monitoring traffic safety efforts. You will be responsible for developing and managing governing documents and training plans, supporting commanders and units, collaborating for exercises, monitoring the traffic safety situation, and driving improvement work. You will ensure the quality of vehicle training, participate in the development of vehicle services, and follow up on operations during exercises both in and outside Sweden. You will represent FMLOG in collaboration forums and report to C FMLOG on traffic safety issues.
About the Staff:
The FMLOG staff is C FMLOG's support in the management and governance of the unit Armed Forces Logistics (FMLOG). As the Traffic Safety Manager, you will belong to the Support Department at FMLOG Staff and the underlying Logistics section. Both military and civilian personnel work in the department. The section operates independently and reports to C FMLOG on substantive issues and decisions.
Job Responsibilities:
As the Traffic Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, and developing traffic safety efforts within the Armed Forces logistics (FMLOG) and will eventually be responsible for ensuring the quality of vehicle training in the area. You have a genuine interest in and knowledge of traffic safety issues.
- Develop, update, and manage governing documents, such as traffic safety and training plans.
- Support the unit and commanders regarding traffic safety issues.
- Collaborate with other units regarding traffic safety for exercises.
- Monitor the traffic safety situation, analyze trends, and drive improvement work.
- Participate in development work within vehicle services in the Armed Forces.
- Follow up on drivers and vehicle services during exercises where FMLOG participates both within and outside Sweden to develop and adapt the unit's training plans.
- Maintain and develop your own competence in vehicle services both as a designated trainer and examiner, as well as being a teacher/instructor.
- Ensure the quality of vehicle training and contribute to a strong traffic safety culture.
- Represent FMLOG in internal and external collaboration forums.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of current military experience from a military position
- Documented experience in vehicle services and as a trainer for heavy trucks with heavy trailers
- Experience in administrative work that includes planning, documentation, follow-up, and reporting in a larger organization
- Experience in independently managing and driving issues in a larger organization with multiple operations, functions, or geographical distributions
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Holds driving license categories B, BE, C, CE, DE
- Meets the requirements to be accepted into the military traffic inspector course according to the Transport Agency's regulations and the Armed Forces' admission requirements
Meritorious:
- Experience from another larger authority/regulatory organization
- Experience in systematic traffic safety work
- Experience in staff work or strategic management
- Served as a military traffic teacher or military traffic inspector
- Experience in operational safety work
Personal Qualities:
In the role of Traffic Safety Manager, it is important that you can work independently and adjust your pace as needed, but also thrive in collaboration with others and have an easy time building trust to contribute to strengthening the traffic safety culture within the Armed Forces. You have a genuine commitment to traffic safety and a good analytical ability to combine the overall perspective with attention to detail.
