Training Officer at Livgardesgruppen

Livgardesgruppen (LGG) is a Military Region Group responsible for the four Home Guard battalions (23.hvbat – 26.hvbat) in Stockholm. In addition to these, LGG also has production responsibility for; a Home Guard intelligence company, a traffic platoon, and a regional command platoon. LGG also has tasks as a war unit which include leading the activation of subordinate war units and collaboration and planning with other actors within total defense in Stockholm.

LGG belongs to the Central Military Region and is located in Kungsängen.

At LGG, there is an opportunity to identify in good time when the main activities will be carried out, which provides good conditions for our personnel to plan family life, their own professional development, and physical training. At LGG, there is the opportunity to plan both smaller and larger exercises (from group to battalion) with varying degrees of complexity as an instructor and leader, which we believe benefits personal development.

Main Responsibilities

As a training officer responsible for a battalion/function, you act as a link between LGG and the war unit. This is done by supporting the Home Guard battalion and its companies with planning and conducting training and exercises. The training officer follows their unit/function and actively participates in the follow-up, evaluation, and development of the unit/function.

During larger exercises, you act as a platoon exercise leader and company exercise leader regarding combat shooting and dual-sided combat exercises. You train individual soldiers up to company leadership.

The position includes war placement at LGG. Within this framework, the role entails responsibility for training during activation/mobilization, conducting forced capability enhancement, and tasks related to collaboration with other total defense actors.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Officer (OF1/OF2) or Officer (SO7/8)
  • Good ability to lead and coordinate activities.
  • Solid troop experience and skilled in troop training and troop leadership.
  • Driver's license (military vehicle driving license is an advantage)

Personal Qualities

  • Good leadership qualities but also an ability to apply your knowledge in daily operations.
  • A high work capacity with a good ability to work independently under a high degree of freedom and responsibility.
  • Good ability to work in a team
  • A good ability to create and build good relationships both internally and externally.
  • You are a good representative of the Armed Forces and a role model both as a person and a leader. You base your leadership on the Armed Forces' values.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience as a platoon and/or company exercise leader.
  • SUSA/FUSA competence (company/platoon).
  • Experience as a battalion staff member.
  • Company and platoon commander experience is advantageous.
  • Security guard examiner

Employment type: permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.
