Who am I?

I am a happy and positive 18-year-old guy in Gothenburg who has personal assistance and is now looking for an assistant to join my wonderful team!

I have autism, which means I sometimes need a little help to get started and go out for fun activities. I can do a lot on my own, but I appreciate support with meals, hygiene, and getting dressed or undressed. I understand everything you say, but I don’t speak myself. However, I can sign Yes and No, and you will soon learn to recognize my sounds and signals. I am not aggressive.

I have many interests - I like music, swimming, taking the bus, visiting the library, and the Garden Society. Riding roller coasters is one of my favorite things! I am also really good at reading maps and bus schedules.

Who are you?

You who are applying enjoy being active and keeping up with the pace! It’s good if you have decent physical stamina, as the days can sometimes be fast-paced. Experience working with people with autism is a plus, but not a requirement - the most important thing is that you are calm, secure, and genuinely engaged.

Since there is a dog in the home, you need to be comfortable with animals and not allergic.

What can a work shift look like?

During weekdays, you will start your shift and meet me in the city when I finish school, and we will find a fun activity in the city. Maybe we’ll take a trip using public transport and try a new bus line, or we can go to the Garden Society for a coffee, or why not a visit to the library? The shift ends with us taking the bus together to the stop Lilla Varholmen where my parents will take over. I actually live on Grötö. But you will mostly be in Gothenburg. However, it’s good if you are open to working on Grötö since we will sometimes be there.
