About the position

The Neonatal Department at Karolinska University Hospital is one of the largest and most specialized units for the care of newborns in the Nordic countries. It operates in three locations: Solna, Huddinge, and Danderyd, and each year approximately 2,700 children are cared for, including extremely premature infants from gestational week 22. Karolinska is a national resource for advanced treatments such as respiratory care, cooling treatment, and pediatric surgery. The care is family-centered and developmentally supportive, focusing on minimal separation and active parental participation.

We are now announcing positions at step 5 within the Stockholm Region's competence ladder for nurses in clinical service. The positions concern the following areas of responsibility:

  • Breastfeeding/Nutrition (Danderyd's Neo)
  • Pain (Danderyd's Neo)
  • Hygiene
  • Family-centered and Developmentally supportive care.

We are looking for someone who

  • collaborates well and contributes to a good team climate
  • works in a structured and goal-oriented manner
  • wants to drive the implementation of evidence-based knowledge in the organization
  • wants to mentor and teach colleagues and/or students
  • is interested in following current research and development in the field.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the role.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed nurse with specialist training or midwife
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience
  • Master's degree
  • Mentor training 7.5 hp and/or nursing pedagogy 7.5 hp.

Being an assistant university nurse means that you have real and formal competence according to step 5 in the competence ladder within Region Stockholm: Specialist nurses in clinical care - Region Stockholm.

About the recruitment process

The first step is an expression of interest for the position. Instead of a personal letter, we ask you to answer selection questions and briefly motivate why you are suitable for the role. Answering the questions is a prerequisite for your application to be considered complete.

In this first step, you attach the following:

  • proof of licensure as a nurse from the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • proof of mentor training/nursing pedagogy 7.5 hp - course after bachelor's degree
  • proof of specialist nurse exam
  • proof of master's degree
  • CV

If you meet the formal requirements, you will be invited to an interview with the unit's Nursing Responsible.

The next step is a formal application for step placement at step 5, with placement occurring after approval from the assessment group for nurses at Karolinska University Hospital.
