Licensed Occupational Therapist to Vallentuna Rehab

Vallentuna is growing, and we need to expand our Occupational Therapist group, so we are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist with a few years of experience, preferably in the primary care field, and who wants to work in a positive, varied, and stimulating work environment. Vallentuna Rehab is part of Vallentuna Healthcare Unit and is a part of SLSO. Within Vallentuna Healthcare Unit, there is also Vaxholm Rehab. The Vallentuna Rehab clinic is located in the center of Vallentuna in the Korallen building, and the Vaxholm clinic is located in the heart of Vaxholm city, on Kapellgatan. In Vallentuna, there are three general practitioner clinics, two of which are at the same address, and the third is in the center. Today, there is an established collaboration with both Vallentuna municipality and the general practitioner clinics.

We have 21 employees within Rehab, 17 in Vallentuna and 6 in Vaxholm, providing rehabilitation for our patients. Currently, there are 4 occupational therapists working in Vallentuna and Vaxholm. We have home rehabilitation teams, occupational therapy clinics, physiotherapy clinics, dietitian clinics, and chiropractic clinics. We have 3 physiotherapists with specialist competence in orthopedics. We offer various schools such as physical and digital osteoarthritis schools, Active Lifestyle, Pain Schools, etc. The occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dietitians supervise students in all semesters. We have regular internal training and continue to educate ourselves in the field of our operations.

Job Responsibilities:

As an Occupational Therapist with us, you will meet patients of all ages and with various types of diagnoses. You will work in a team together with physiotherapists and sometimes dietitians. You will also meet patients individually both at home and at the clinic. You will conduct home visits for assessment of activity ability and assistive device needs, prescription of assistive devices, and investigation for housing adaptation. You will also work with memory assessments and work ability assessments. If you lack competence in memory assessments or work ability assessments, we offer opportunities for further education.

Vallentuna rehab and Vaxholm rehab are one and the same unit and collaborate to fulfill the mission. Your primary workplace will be Vallentuna.

Since much of the work takes place in the patient's home, you cannot be allergic to pets or cigarette smoke.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist. A master's degree is an advantage.
  • Experience as a licensed occupational therapist in primary care is an advantage.
  • Driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is a requirement.

Employment Form:

Fixed-term employment for 6 months with a high possibility of permanent employment, full-time Monday to Friday 40h/week. Start date according to agreement.

Personal Qualities:

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, commitment, and good collaboration skills. Good interaction with both patients and colleagues is very important to us. You should also be independent as the work involves many of your own decisions.

Other Information:

  • background checks are applied before a hiring decision according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment examination, according to applicable directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
