The Oncology Clinic at Södersjukhuset is a complete oncology operation with three oncology outpatient clinics, medical treatment, radiation therapy, inpatient department, hereditary clinic, and clinical research unit.

The clinic consists of approximately 170 employees and is primarily focused on the oncological treatment of breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colorectal cancer.

Our goal is to provide personalized and modern cancer care with high quality and strong patient focus. The operation aims to be characterized by good teamwork and smooth and safe patient flows.

The clinic is part of the Breast Center SÖS, which also includes surgery, mammography, and pathology. Work is conducted in close collaboration through multidisciplinary conferences.

Job Description

As a contact nurse at the breast clinic in the oncology department, you support patients throughout their oncological treatment. You work in a team with 8 other contact nurses and nursing assistants at the clinic. You are responsible for the patients you are the contact nurse for, together with the patient's responsible physician. There are also social workers, dietitians, psychosocial nurses, and physiotherapists in the team around the patients. Many patients are followed for an extended period and need support and information throughout their treatment. As a contact nurse, you are the first person patients turn to for follow-up, information, advice, and support regarding planned and ongoing treatment. The tasks mainly consist of phone contact with patients and clinic work where you meet patients in your own clinic or together with a doctor.

Qualifications

Competency Requirements

• Licensed nurse
• Swedish language skills equivalent to at least level C1

Meritorious

• Further education in Oncology
• Previous experience in oncology
• Previous experience as a contact nurse
• Contact nurse training
