Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.


IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at compulsory school level with 48 schools and around 32,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993.

We are now looking for a qualified primary school teacher for grades 4-6 with subject competence in Swedish/Social Studies. The position includes shared mentorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement and develop lessons
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Mentorship for students in one of the classes you teach
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the school community

Who are you?

  • You have a teaching degree with authorization and certification for Swedish and Social Studies grades 4-6
  • You can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
  • You plan, implement, and evaluate teaching and work to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • You are a team player and value collaboration within your work teams and enjoy working with people in an international school environment.
  • You take responsibility for systematically documenting, analyzing, evaluating, and following up on students' knowledge development.
  • You take initiative and have clear leadership in the classroom.
  • You are clear and concise in your communication and have the ability to motivate and inspire students to embrace new knowledge.
  • You have good knowledge of ICT as a pedagogical tool.
  • You are passionate about development and a collegial working method.

We place great importance on personal suitability and we expect you to have a genuine interest in children and young people. The position is a temporary contract, primarily until June 2026, with the possibility of extension. Salary according to agreement, collective agreement exists.
