Laban School's adapted primary and secondary school is looking for an experienced, committed, and competent teacher for after-school care or alternatively a preschool/primary school teacher with experience in working within adapted primary school and/or secondary school as well as after-school activities.

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the after-school care's activities together with the current after-school leader for our short-term supervision (children and youth older than 12 years who need care). All children attending our after-school care have an intellectual disability. You will have the support of a team of skilled assistants. During school hours, you will work alongside other assistants to support the students throughout their school day. We also expect you to step in as a substitute teacher when needed, both for longer and shorter periods if any of our special teachers are away for studies or are sick. Therefore, it is important for us that you have a degree as a teacher for after-school care/preschool or primary school teacher.

Qualifications

You are familiar with the mission of after-school care and actively work to stimulate students' development and learning while offering them a meaningful leisure time. The teaching is based on the students' needs, interests, and experiences, but you also manage to challenge them by inspiring new discoveries. You provide students with a variety of working methods, forms of expression, and learning environments that integrate care and learning.

You plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the teaching individually and together with your colleagues. You are flexible and have good collaborative skills and a desire for the students to reach their full potential.

In the after-school care/classroom, you are a clear leader who has the ability to create a learning environment characterized by safety, joy, and knowledge. This is achieved with good didactic skills, a clear structure, and varied teaching that is adapted to the conditions.

You see documentation and assessment as a natural part of the work. You have a good ability to analyze and reflect on your work to continually develop and improve the operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

- is a licensed teacher for after-school care/preschool/primary school.

- has experience in teaching within adapted primary school and has a good knowledge of the governing documents.

- uses digital tools in teaching and applies clear pedagogical methods and has knowledge of positive behavior support.

- has good collaborative skills and can create good relationships as the work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians.

- expresses themselves well in both speech and writing as the role includes written documentation and oral communication.
