Our Offer

The Children's Cancer Center in Linköping is one of six children's cancer centers in Sweden. We are responsible for the investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of children and adolescents with cancer and blood diseases throughout the Southeast healthcare region. Here, there is a care department and a day care service with a reception. We are part of H.K.H. Crown Princess Victoria's Children's and Youth Hospital and have close cooperation with the hospital's other units. You will be part of the team at the Children's Cancer Center but also collaborate with the paramedical team at the children's hospital. As an employee at the Children's Cancer Center, you will also cooperate with staff at home hospitals and other children's cancer centers in Sweden.

We are a university clinic where both education and research are closely integrated with clinical work. In our unit, we welcome students and run projects to develop and improve care. We also have many ongoing research projects integrated with clinical work. You will represent Linköping in national and international networks in the field. Job Description

Your tasks include providing proactive psychosocial support to patients and relatives as well as contributing to a comprehensive plan with coordination, legal expertise, and guidance in contacts with authorities. The position also includes working in our oncology follow-up teams.

Among the social worker's tasks are to conduct psychosocial needs assessments, design and offer individualized support, e.g., in the form of crisis conversations, supportive talks, bereavement support, and processing conversations.

About You

We are looking for a licensed healthcare social worker. You should have experience working in pediatric oncology or other pediatric healthcare. It is an advantage if you have worked in follow-up activities for pediatric oncology and if you have participated in the development of national guidelines and have experience of regional and national collaborations.

You have the ability to communicate and create good cooperation with different professions. You are flexible, see opportunities in changes, and have a positive attitude. You take responsibility for both your tasks and the team's collective. You are interested in care development and driving improvement projects. You are also involved in your own professional development. You enjoy sharing your expertise with colleagues and students. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
