As a transporter at Björkdahls Funeral Agency, you have one of the most significant and varied roles in the organization. The role spans the entire chain – from logistics to ceremonial presence and meeting with relatives.

The work mainly takes place during the day, but on-call duty and work outside regular hours is a constant feature, the intervals of which are determined upon hiring.

Your tasks include, among other things:

• Logistics and storage. You, together with colleagues, are responsible for the storage of coffins and urns, orders, as well as receiving and delivering shipments.

• Care and transportation. You carry out pickups of the deceased from various environments and are responsible for a dignified and professional handling, including wrapping and placing in coffins.

• Ceremony and representation. You transport the coffin to and from funeral ceremonies and act as the agency's representative during the ceremony. You ensure that everything practical works and meet relatives and guests with calm, respect, and security.

• Personal farewells and viewings. You participate in and prepare personal farewells and viewings, where your role is to create a serene and dignified atmosphere.

• Administration and planning. You are responsible for the logistical planning of your assignments and the associated administration to ensure quality and traceability at every step.

The workplace is mainly Norrköping, but work at our other offices in the surrounding area may occur.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who enjoys combining practical and physical work with a professional, empathetic, and representative approach. You are confident in yourself, structured, and have a natural respect for the ethical and human dimensions of the assignment.

• Have good physical and mental strength and can handle heavy lifting as well as work in an environment where you meet people in grief.

• Are orderly, structured, and have a logistical mindset.

• Have a well-groomed and representative manner and feel comfortable in formal contexts.

• Work meticulously and take great responsibility for your tasks.

• Have a good ability to switch between independent work and teamwork.

You also need:

• A valid driver's license (B).

• Access to your own car.

• Good knowledge of Swedish and English.

• Good computer skills for administrative work.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Previous experience in transport, logistics, or funeral services is an advantage but not a requirement.
