Do you want to make a real difference in young people's lives? We are now looking for an engaged coordinator for youth service who wants to help develop our work. Welcome with your application!

Target Group

The target group for the Youth Center is young people (13-20 years) who are in, or at risk of, harmful use/dependence, criminality, or other self-destructive behavior. Many of the young people come from an environment characterized by mental health issues and substance abuse. The Youth Center offers individual conversations, family conversations/treatment, discussions with other networks, and various types of program activities. The intervention can be provided upon self-application, as assistance from social services, or as a consequence of a court ruling.

Services Offered

The activities within the Youth Center provide young people with a professional outpatient care contact with a wide range of competencies that enable individually tailored support based on the individual's needs. Of course, we also collaborate within the Youth Center between the different branches of activity, which means that young people and parents can quickly and easily get help with various questions or concerns that fall within our unit.

Job Description

As a coordinator, you are responsible for the entire process when young people are sentenced to youth service. You have contact with workplaces that accept young people, and you continuously recruit new workplaces to ensure a broad and qualitative offer.

In your work, you strive to match the right young person to the right place based on their needs, abilities, and interests. You play a central role in creating structure, building relationships, and contributing to a positive change process. The work involves close collaboration with young people, parents, social workers, and supervisors at the workplaces. You should have a good ability to work independently but also function well in collaboration with others.

The position includes independently holding startup meetings, following up on youth service, and writing completion reports. You have ongoing dialogue with the responsible social workers about how the youth service is progressing. You need to be flexible based on the needs of the operation. The position also involves other types of conversations with young people and their families. Interviews may take place continuously during the recruitment process.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree, such as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or other education that the employer considers relevant for the position. You need to have previous experience working with young people involved in criminality. A B driver's license is required. Experience collaborating with other professionals is an advantage. As a person, you have the courage to act according to your own convictions. You easily adapt to changing circumstances and can quickly adjust both perspectives and working methods. You see changes as an opportunity for development. You also have a good ability to understand others' perspectives and situations without taking over the person's feelings.
